Sure there is stu its a case of slightly slackening the screws. Test voltage then test at Wot. Use AVCR or get multi meter and put pins onto probes so it don't damage the wires. Should be 5v at wot and is it 0 with no throttle.

Thanks guys Smile
I popped over to a local lads earlier and his car wouldn't rev and when it did it was all over the place.
Did a fault code check and it showed up tps fault.
Checked the tps plug and the tps moved :/ someone hadn't tightened the screws up.
I positioned it to the marks that had been left on the backing plate but it will need setting up spot on..
It has cured the problem tho with me just re positioning it.
I will link him to this post so he can get it done.
Thanks again.

Hmmm i followed another thread that was 0.45 to 0.65v
Have to adjust it again if its 0.35v would explain the idle problems.

if you aim around 0.45v then you wont be far out at all
the range on a closed throttle is 0.35-0.65v

the best way to check the tps itself is with an ohms test whilst its electrically dead, the reading you get should be a smooth transition from low to high reading, if it suddenly jumps then there is a fault with it.

it works in a very similar way to a fuel sender unit in the tank so basically a variable resistor
hope that helps  Smile
