Here's a question for those who've been before.

What is the best way to take funds for fuel n food etc ? usually just take cash when going abroad but this is a little closer to home and was wondering if the likes of fuel could be purchased the way we do at home i.e. Debit card so I'm not walking about with mega bucks in me sky rocket

Cash is king mate or one of those European credit cards that don't charge you seem good. We keep meaning to get one but still haven't done it. Will be cash and debit cards for fuel for us, but you do get stung by the bank for non uk transactions. Plus their own bad exchange rate.

While posting some parts out to customers today i was talking to the guy behind the counter about buying euros. Blah blah to cut a long story short he noticed i used my Nationwide card to which he informed me Nationwide didn't use to charge for overseas purchases. So i'm going to have a look into it. May be worth asking your bank too.

I use cash and a post office eurocard, definitely worth having. ive only got a post office as I spend most of my working day in one so just convenient but here is a list of the top 10

Just been to debenhams for some currency, it's €1.16 at the moment. Asked about the euro card thing but they do incur charges for some things. So I'm probably gonna take cash.

But I will look into the cc a bit more

Hotel has contacted me asking if we intend dining in their restaurant. its a bit pricey to dine there every night so shall I suggest what we normally do and have dinner the first night we're there then we'll probably do our own thing the rest of the week, but just make sure the Bar is well stocked!!!!!
its just so that they can prepare a menu for us.

ive asked them to make sure the bar fully stocked and even asked them if any chance of shipping in some fruity ciders
