Good points bad points, Subaru/Nissan/Mitsubiishi they all got em, obviously bias as they are not a Nissan club, all I can say is if Nissan were still producing and developing the GTIR after 25years, it would be a world beater, look how long the other manufactures have been producing and developing, and they are comparing them to a 25year old car with a short production run.
GTI-R every time.

Agree with Thermal. the GTI-R is an evolution 1, so just imagine what it would be if it was an evolution 8, 9 or 10.
Why, it might even be a supercar beater, wait, not might, it WOULD be a supercar beater.
No bias is intended here hehehehehe

Quite a lot of dribble in that thread, don't suffer from bump steer as that a myth from the powerstation w@nk bumpsteer kit, pistons are actually reasonably good & can run around 340hp for yonks if mapped right & use likes of water injection to keep intake temps sensible.
most issues of ringland failure is caused by other faults such as idiot owners & dodgy tuners.
Rust ain't that bad, evos rust & rear arches go on the scoobs as well.
Plenty of 25yr old R's about that not seen a mig yet.
As for gearbox they ain't the best in terms of stripping gears & selectors & case is weak if seriously launching with high power but a good order gearbox will run 350hp without issue really.
I broke more evo boxes than have gtir ... scooby boxes have issues too as does most stuff in this class when old, driven hard and handling close to 400hp
Brakes are an easy fix & handling can be improved drastically without too much hassle.
I own evo & gtir, love subarus too & own a forester sf but gtir is the Prince :-)
