Found out why clutch went on car

Finally had time this morning to take the gearbox off the car and found out why my clutch stopped working

One of the tabs has sheared off the release bearing and chucked the fork off?

Has anyone ever had this to happen, the release bearing is an exedy?

Take pics and email them to exedy. They might replace it and also give you a discount code for future use?
Never had it happen to me.

Any sign of other issue such as cover fingers not level, fork bent or even actual bearing race tilting to one side to cause offset load & failure ?
Never been big fan of exedy but they generally a good clutch & most people happy with them. bearing with the exedy clutch is made by daikin. blueprint do a decent release bearing at normally good price & so does ICP .

not really any sign, just one tab has sheared off, and went the clutch went it was sudden I had no issues with my clutch.

Luckily i kept my release bearing out of my white ca so ive put that on and fitted gearbox back on in about 4 hours so hopefully that'll do for now :/

The same thing happened to me last year with a nismo clutch.The friction disc and pressure plate were fine but one of the tabs on the release bearing had folded like wet paper which is no mean feet as its 2/3mm thick steel.I think it just fatigues over time as my clutch had been on the car for at least 10 years so i cant complain.
