Good luck with the head tighten, it dosent sound as if you have been running it too long with the loose studs, so fingers crossed.
I did not know ARP were so useless.

Update all the new head bolts are in and some of the arp bolts had worked up which I found quite shocking should of took a pic of the worse one and sent it to arp so they know what they are selling out in the morning for the compression test

GQuick update did not get away with it got all the compression back but under boost its pressure up the Water system so head gasket is gone so just orderd a cosworth head gasket new oil pump new warter pump and timing chain while its apart might as well get them changed
But due to waiting for parts I am going to miss the rr day at bobs

was a gamble scott and well worth the try as you may have struck lucky.

im now wondering whether swapping to a 1.3 bar pressure cap has actually blown the hg
the increased pressure in the system coupled with the lifted arp studs could just have put the final nail in the coffin.

pity you wont have her done for Saturday though, is 2 days not enough to get it done?, ive even got a hg down here (new one) you can borrow until the other arrives if that helps at all

Yer was definitely worth the try and think you are very right about the 1.3 bar cap

Head gasket comes in the morning but got to wait 3 days for oil pump and water pump so will strip it all down and get the head of for testing just to be safe but on a good note at least I am finding out about my engine and tackling the jobs my self

What's wrong with the oil pump then? Not something you would normally change unless you had a bottom end problem

Scotty6860, I will be going to Bobs on Saturday, meeting up with RobIOW on the way, if there is anything you need from Bobs I could bring it back for you, if you still fancy going up if you are not elbow deep in Pulsar, I could pick you up and drop you off, if you are anywhere near Brighton/M23, I will be going up about 9:30, returning around 4:00ish after a natter and a burger.

Best thing you can do with those arp studs is use then as drifts :-)
I don't use any higher pressure caps than 1.1bar, 1.3bar just not needed really & on old cooling systems they a pain in the ass ...

Going to test it tomorrow can't find my meter and the battery is on charge as it was dead and still on charge would it be possible that it was the battery

It could be the battery although without testing it its really hard to tell you can test from the battery once its running you ideally looking at figures around 14 ....
