Run it at night and look for any arcing off the ht leads etc, I had that once and took me ages to find it, or better still change the leads if you have a spare set

How long has it sat ? What plugs you running ? Don't go changing everything at once best to know which component was causing it

Isn't white smoke moisture, I.e water....? Have you checked the water levels in the rad?

Keep an eye on your water level for sure, is your heater blowing hot air out?

Sort of hot... Get that tester on it and let us know what it is. Is it around 150/160 psi on the cylinders that's a healthy engine? I May stand corrected??

Pete's right, look for about 150/160 across all four and keep an eye on the water levels

You can't say what compressions will be as it may be a low compression build in which case they may be down on figures quoted.
The main thing is that there's a balance across all 4

If the header tank is full it maybe a few things Scott
1 sticky thermostat
2 weak rad cap releasing pressure, try a 1.3 bar cap
3 turbo problem (you say it seems faster, is there an over boost prob)?
4 blow in head gasket between cylinders or cylinder and waterway

Check out the simple things first

So after a day of checks and calls to bob it seems as if my arp head bolts are wank and the cylinder head is lifting as compesion was down loads on all 4 and coolant is getting in to the exhaust so in the morning it's new head bolts in and keep fingers crossed once again thanks for all the help bob

I thought stock head bolts were best used over the arp ones ....

He has arp head bolts fitted already when engine was built.

They have now let go as it appears the head has lifted (state normal with the arp head studs)
So I've advised him to try and remove one by one and replace with stock head bolts and if he's lucky he may get away without changing the head gasket unless of course it has burnt across to waterways in which case head gasket will need replacing

So fingers crossed for him
