1fuel filter issue Empty fuel filter issue 3rd December 2014, 6:44 pm

Hey fellow members, for some reason I am having issues with my fuel filter. So far got everything replaced that needed to be in my gtir. However, I changed the fuel filter with an oem one but started leaking a lot, then to a different one Delco I think, and a twin turbo 300zx aND still leaking. Lines are fine its the filter for some odd reason it keeps leaking from the filter. Anyone come across this? Thank you

Nah everything is left the way it was it's all coming from the bottom end of the fuel filter. Lines are good on the fuel rail but when I switched fuel filter it started spewing out on the bottom piece of the fuel filter. People are suggesting better clamps others are saying cut the fuel line hoses an inch, to start out fresh.

Its got to be the line/clip

Just cut the line an inch from each end to start of new? And get new clamps? Because it's only leaking from the filter itself nothing else.

Sounds unusual, there is no way having tried multiple filters they would all be leaking somehow.

Cutting the lines abit and making sure you have decent clamps won't hurt. Let us know how you get on Smile

Well fellow members, looks like it was just the fuel line that was probably bad because it snapped and no more fuel is going into the block so now I need a fuel line. It was leaking less when I tightened more and cut a bit off but it snapped at the bottom line.

Yes pipes and wires need regular checks due to the age of these cars now.

Yeah good thing I know some people at an auto parts store so I got new fuel line 3 feet long just to measure but only hard part is to remove the fuel filter fuel line that runs frim the bottom because of tight space. BBit I'll make it work somehow.

Good news and it shouldn't be too hard to remove the line Smile

I've redone all my pipes in may, all vacuum and fuel lines. Really worth doing on cars of this age to save you trouble if anything goes.

It's not really a hard job just make sure you dont have a fag in your mouth when you're one it Very Happy

I thought having a fag in your mouth was the best way to find a fuel leak?
