As title says my car runs but when I.try and accelerate it spits and splutters... Also if the turbo.has gone do you get compression in the coolant or is that only the headgasket that does that? As my head gasket was done almost 2 years ago so Im hoping it isn't that..
thanks sam

Sounds more like limp mode or ignitiin problem/ fuel problem

Yeah id check ht cables, plugs etc first. Sounds like a ignition or fuel problem just like johnny said.

If your turbo is fucked then one of the signs can be oil in the intake pipe but i doubt its the turbos fault

When you say splutters ..... where abouts does it splutter in the rev range ... it could be a multitude of things plugs ...leads ... coil pack ... maf .... det sensor ... timing ... i would do basic checks first .... base timing ... comp test ... check plugs see if they all look the same ...

As above. Turbo would of probably shown noise before it jammed up or smoke if seals etc had gone

easy, check the turbo for excessive endfloat and side to side excess play which you can do by just undoing the 2 12mm bolts to intake.
but as said by others, it doesn't sound like tubby troubles you have there
