As the title suggests, Nearly every single one is wrecked so I may as well replace everything while it's off. I'm going to try and refurbish the calipers but I got a bolt stuck in the slider Sad Going for some hammering tomorrow as I managed to get one off hammering a 13mm socket but in doing so in my own typical way I got the bolt stuck in the socket queue hammer time and snapped bolt, still in the socket  Mad

I will need every nut and bolt on the rear underside of the car. I've already bought full car polybushes and subframe ready for some hulk green powder coating Very Happy  cheers
Do I need anything in particular or will any odd and sod do, if online where from?

It's been a long day and I'm going to finish off the fridge

This is interesting as no doubt i'll be replacing rusty nuts and bolts when I get round to doing mine. Hopefully the spares I have at work may be of use as they come off jap tractors. Always found it weird why the Japanese use different size heads on the bolts etc 12 and 14mm instead of 13mm.

I'm lucky to have this place local so I get most of mine from here.
As said, the head sizes may be different, but that doesn't really matter.

Japenese dont use 13mm heads or anything 13 as it is deemed unlucky hence why you get 12mm then 14mm ...

I think about the only awkward bolt to get new would be the long one that goes through the parallel link bars and the hub.

Any fastener supplier will be able to get what you need but get yourself a thread pitch gauge as the Japanese do tend to use a finer thread on some stuff than we do, for example they use 1.25mm pitch on stuff I would normally expect to see 1.5mm on.

How bad are your nuts and bolts that aren't chewed up? I gave a rear set of bolts a bath in citric acid solution and they came out looking lovely, a step further would be to have the re-plated but I didn't get that far.

Caliper bolts always get chewed up, people using bi-hex sockets on them to try and break seized bolts.  Mad

When re assembly comes always use an anti seize compound on the threads of bolts that get exposed to the elements.

Japanese have there own fastener standard JIC. Finer pitch & higher strength rating than Europe DIN standard is 2 usual differences.
Smaller head sizes was introduced to help working space in confined areas & also reduce weights.
If bolts not heavily corroded then cleaning & replating can be a good option.
Remember at least one thread on a rebuild with refreshed bolts so could be worth a search & read ...

Thanks guys, they are pretty bad. Threads on some are chewed and some snapped. I put a few in the parts cleaner yesterday to see what happens
Anything underneath or on hubs is being replaced; good or not, I'm also gonna plastic cap each one to prevent this providing I can find caps that fit in the gaps.
The cars 21 years old and obviously not been correctly maintained.

I've also found a few companies on island that have the Jap threads and higher strength stuff I need. Gonna get them all down there so they can sort it. I just cba measuring myself. I hate nuts and bolts after the last two weeks I've had with a VW T5 and the pulsar.

Also online - http://www.namrick.co.uk/ I've been told car restore places use these guys
