they are damned quick on track at 340-50bhp you don't need any more than that in reality

and as johnny said on smaller circuits you can put a lot of cars to shame but on larger circuits you will be outgunned by the much more aerodynamic and bigger engine cars that handle better at speed

Ok fair enough, I will just have to poly bush the whole lot how much would it cost roughly to do that and am I best off getting them put on professionally and if so how much would that be, well I getting Horsham to do my mapping so, with all the specs I have 400 would do me and as it's a smaller housing it still spools up really quick , is that correct

£692 from there, these just standard replacements.

How good are you with a spanner? It all depends how confident you are.
If you can strip a hub off a car along with brakes etc... you're probably gonna be fine with bushes.
Rear suspension and arb's are a piece of piss so do them yourself, It's literally a few nuts and bolts, just the working area is tight by the suspension unless you have beadle hands like me and use lots of lubricant a day before.

The others, such as arms, I'm sure are similar but might require some force/hammer/heat to remove and soap, lube and pressure to refit - All doable on a drive

I'm no guru with mechanics and everything I know is from reading and just getting out there, if it doesn't work get a mate in to assist - Like Edd China and his 3rd hand Paul.

Support the shell on stands and you can unwind the subframe nuts until the end of the studs and drop the subframe down which gives you a few precious inches in that area when working with the arms.

If you have a compressor or can borrow a battery one then a windy gun makes the job much easier, puts much less stress on the nuts and bolts being undone. Use single hex sockets wherever possible.

As above, lots of penetrating fluid on anything you are going to remove.

Best way to remove bushes is to burn them out but its makes a hell of a mess/smell so not something to be done on a driveway.

Any of them are much of a muchness really
Blitz, apexi, k&n, piperx will all suffice
Hks are good but you need to keep the sponge filter changed regularly as they absorb water and can rot after a period of time

I would also be carefully about the amount of polybushes you use as you can overdo it and make the car too rigid which is as bad as it being sloppy
You need some feedback as to what the cars doing on a fast bend on track and if too rigid you'll have no feedback until it just breaks away from you which is not a good idea if your doing 100 plus on a long drawn out bend

If on a bumpy road the car will skip and bounce all over the place making it very difficult to handle

Guess we'll find out in say, 2 years going at my current speed. I can always swap them out where need be for black ones.

Ok, will get it finished take it to a track and see what I think, if I'm not sure I will ask my mate as he races on track in stock hatch Saxo, so would think he knows something about handling lol

I have polys on everything but the subframe mounts and don't think it is any more harsh than a car with full standard bushes.

I am on standard shocks though.

It does feel a bit loose at the rear but I might be confusing that for better turn in. I havnt tried the other settings on the rear arb either.

Tell jez how you want the car to handle. He can advise you on what you need or how to set it up for your needs, like fast road use, track use etc.

I'm sure there is info on this site too somewhere on people's different set ups

think including you, pesh, boycy there is one other that I know of and that's a guy who regularly comes here to pick parts up, hes doing a 600hp project and its been ongoing for years but he doesn't do forums or internet
ive seen pics of his car and the build of this thing is superb, some serious work and fabrication has gone into it.
we built the engine for it and think hes spend in total is over 30k as of yet and its still nowhere near complete Shocked

Oh right, that's some serious money and a serious car when it will be done, one bloke is called john Morley he has a whole collection off cars but his pulsar is just sitting there not even running, the other bloke he has got 2 I think has a step son called eithen maybe he is already one who has commented on it but, I was told but his step son he bought a pulsar and on the way back crashed it Into a tree as far as I remember and wrote it off, can't remember what his name was but maybe he is already a member
