My 400bhp+ FWD Sunny Gti

Well here is my Nissan Sunny Gti

My project started life as a 1.6sr, (blue one) some of you will remember some wont!

Since then be had 3 Sunny Gti's
1 for parts
1 to use and base my build on & my last
1 (current) to transfer everything over as the shell is rust free)

The car runs 403bhp and 380nm at 1.5bar and has been rolling roaded/mapped by Gordon at street racers Motorsport of Leicester!

It has J.E Pistons
Manley Rods
Arp head bolts
Arp bottom end bolts
Arp main bolts
ACL race bearings throughout
Cosworth head gasket
Skimmed head and decked block to higher compression slightly (and remove imperfections ;-)
Front mount intercooler
Garrett th60-1 turbo (gt30-35 sized)
Evo 8 560cc injectors
Full 3" exhaust custom made
Tial 38mm external wastegate
Act xtreme paddle clutch
Custom breather setup
Greedy emanage blue ECU
Primera p11-144 2.0 gearbox with 85w140
Phantom grip differential
Apex Suspension & the usual bits and bobs

Battery relocation to the boot,
Go faster stripe.... Haha only joking!

Just refurbing some new speedline comp2 wheels for it that I will be fitting in the next week or so!

So 6 years ago it started off like this

:-) currently changing my gearbox again (5th box) due to stripping 3 Sunny Gti boxes (3rd gears) and 1 primera p11-144 gearbox (4th gear)



This is a small clip of the acceleration (not the best clip though)



And a shot of my engine bay! Still needs some tidying up when I get round to it! Matching colour hoses and little things like that!





So yeah! There it is in a very short and sweet version!

Your torque seems a bit low for your spec? 380nm=280lbft?

Yeah, my issue is I don't run a boost controller I'm using a cosworth Amal valve, the boost only reaches full at rev limiter as it creeps up!

Only does 1.3 bar at the 380nm if I had a controller I could get the boost to peak at 1.5 instantly and therefore it would create the correct torque figures!

I take it that's on your to do list?

I know! 4 sets of gears it's sheared teeth from! I haven't ran thick oil before so the gearbox I'm using next is going to be ran with 85w140 gear oil!

And yeah we'll to be honest I wanted an AEM ECU but chances of me buying one will be slim!

I've finally fitted y new wheels over the weekend! It's looking so much better!

I brought 4 toyo proxes t1-r and the difference from 195/50/15 - 205/50/16 is unreal, the handling, grip and the general feel of the car is amazing!

What size daz ?

You had to reshell it mate or new car altogether? Just noticed the plate has changed

Leighton there 16's, I do plan on using them when funds allow.

Haha that's fine! No I haven't!? I could do with a look, and the car was re-shelled last year, due to rust and just small general issues!
