I was up late last night just randomly searching, reading, catching up. I stumbled across this site the other day and the first thing I noticed was the most members online was nearly 100 in feb of this year. This is surprisingly healthy. The other two sites seem ridiculously quiet. I used gtiroc from 99-2004, and when the modifiers site started in 04/05 it attracted a lot of Aussie and NZ owners which was great for me as I was building the pulsar gti and got to speak to two guys going the same , EVL DAN and EVL GTI. The gtiroc seem to dwindle as a result of modifiers but in the last 5 years both sites seem to have very little traffic?? SO is this the new place to be then? Serious question.
20-30 people online daily is pretty impressive for a rapidly disappearing model. Does anyone know how many is genuinely left on the road then? I'm glad there is still a committed band of people keeping this car alive. I've disappeared so many times but wether I'm an owner or not I still want to be involved with this car.

This forum gets around 80-100 member hits every day (not guests) nearly all guests on the other 2sites are spy bots.
Won't go into detail about why this club was formed as it's history and done and done with now but it is by far the busiest forum and people actually get off their asses and get involved on here rather than just talk about it.
That's one reason why the club was formed around 18 months ago and it gets bigger every month. We have many things planned for the future too with the aid of help from other things me and my associates are involved in which will benefit everyone who owns a gtir and those involved in Motorsport.

With regard to cars left I would say around 4-500 in the uk and roughly the same again scattered throughout the world.
Uk sunny gtir,s I would say there may only be around 15-20 left now so will be the ones that will appreciate in value very soon

That's excellent to hear, really is! A classic car doesn't become a classic without the drive of the owners. The gtir was a cult classic by the time I got involved in 1999 but when you look at the value of its competition now, deltas, escort cossies, etc their value is through the roof and the pulsar is worth pennies and the club scene for them gets quiter and quieter. So good to hear there is plenty on the horizon, I'm gonna stick around this time and keep involved.

Knew there would be some kind of politics involved in the owners club stuff Wink Wink

Yes me like a few others pop on all sites, but this is the most active and great banter, topics, community spirit love etc.... I am Greybeast on the mods site. I built the red fwd sunny gtir similar time to when Tony was building his grey pulsar gti he got off you. 2005?
Been on all sites since 2000 days.

Hi matey, yeah I remember you from modifiers, it doesn't seem like nearly a decade since we started building that grey gti, it really did turn out nice, and had so many parts from so many of our prev cars. I'd have another pulsar gti in a heartbeat, I had fun in it before it got ripped out for the sr20det. Probs ten rarer than a gtir now. What you got now?

Looking for the right gtir. Standish condition, red, white, grey, maybe black phase one. I have loads of rare parts to chuck on it.

Right now had for over 5 years, I have a Nissan Sunny Gti, fwd with sr20ve, pushing 196bhp, 1/4 mile 14.12, 0-60 5.4. In the process of turbo charging it, have all the parts. But clutch just went on her and since my son was born, he's 27 months now everything has just been put no hold...lol

I think gtir owners have a great community and a lot of helpful people involved in the scene. I have to admit I've been on larger car forums and you just get a lot of unhelpful bogans that just want complain or criticise everything for the wrong reasons. I think a lot of r owners have a genuine interest in these cars and I'm sure will keep it alive in the future Smile

Have to agree. I've spent the last few days basically searching #gtir #pulsar on instagram. Been talking via picture comments to a couple of guys in USA and a couple in Canada. Great interest in these cars still. Lots of passion and commitment.

Thats something we as a club have tried to avoid and made this forum a friendly and welcoming place where members can feel free to post up problems or advice without the fear of being shot down i think we have acheived this so far ... its not a forum if members dont post so it really is you get back what you put in ...

Ponteland eh, the picture above with the three cars in it was taken on my mate Simons driveway in darras hall. There was always rumours of a bog standard one being driven around the estate by an old lady, never washed or cleaned just used. Never did find it
