if the code keeps cropping up graham you deffo have an issue with it

you as said probably aren't noticing the difference but it will pull timing back at least 2 degrees as your coming onto boost and wot so makes a lot of difference to torque and the general pick up of car coming onto boost

youll see what I mean when you change it  Wink

and fyi just because a knock sensor is cracked does not mean its no good
we have cracked ones in that work perfectly yet others that look brand new are no good at all

Wish I had checked the fault codes before I took the engine out the other shell now!

Nevermind, will get it changed over the next couple days.

Fitted today, has made a huge difference to low rev driving, pulling away etc.

Something odd though, fitted the sensor, reset fault codes and took it out for a drive, check engine light started flashing and going mad so got to the end of the road turned around then took it back in, check fault codes and got no fault, reset it and went out again, has been fine since, no fault.

What was that all about?

Weren't hot dog light flashing up was it?
If so check the cat heat sensor braided line isn't plugged in under driver seat still because if it's been cut it can short out and bring the light up

No it was the check engine light, same one that flashes for the codes.

Cat temp sensor has been totally unplugged.

Hasn't come back on must have been a wee glitch, just curious as to what that was all about.
