Most mileage traveled in a GTIR

After yesterdays meet it made me wonder what the most mileage  anyone has ever done in a GTIR in 1 day
Think the most i've ever done is about 320  liverpool - newcastle - liverpool
Although yesterday came close

And also whats the most total mileage anyones R has covered in it's life?    who Pulsar has the highest trip reading

The most I covered in one day was 300 miles and then the ringlands went

Iv had 3 pulsars both rarely left bedford, only used to go milton keynes now and then in all mine. I am going to that sprint day thats around 80 miles each way haha

I reckon my highest in one day is around 320 miles, think Fred has got a car with high mileage.

I've done around 500 mile in one day, bought a pulsar in Portsmouth and drove home to Glasgow the car was faultless all the way home.

Well Whytie upto now looks like your winning . Can you remeber how much fuel she used ?

It's a bit difficult to see but it's definately a 4 at the beginning

Bill i Was just about to edit wiki to include your low power variant of the pulsar . But then i stopped myself   

Lol.. right lets get something straight here.. I'm sure my car was not running right on the rollers, I got about 20 minuets up the M1 before my dump valve disassembled itself and it was only making 0.5 bar just prior to that so chances are it wasn't making much boost on the rolling road. I'll put my hands up to fitting the dump valve and it's my fault it fell to bits. I deserved the spoon of despair but I'm sure my car didn't. It was my idiocy not my cars lack of power, I'm sure it has more than 185 bhp, it must have! It feels much much better than that lol

I think so mate, I took it for a little drive around the block and it seams all good now. I wish I could stick it on the rollers again now to see if the power is any better than before, 185 bhp is appalling and I think I would know if that's all it was making.

The dump valve must of started coming apart in MK because I lost the convoy at one point and had to thrash it to catch back up because I didn't hav a satnav lol

I did notice when thrashing it to catch up to the others I was only making 0.7 bar and before it was closer to 0.8 so I think horses were slowly galloping away on the way there and by the time I hit the rollers it must of been quite down on power

Think dangerous has won this last year with the nurburgring trip
All the way from North York's to the ring in a day

There are quite a few gtirs that make or used to make regular trips to and from the ring

Best way to test yr R bill is drag race me in my 3 cylinder corsa and if you creep away from me you've gained a couple of horses. Lol. Seriously do you want to pop round tomorrow and ill compression test it for you???

We could do if you want to mate. I'm sure it will come up good because it dosent smoke or burn oil at all but it's worth checking it

Bill mate i know its all money but take my advice give the car a good check over. Make sure its all ok get your self a rr seshion booked run it standard all ok map it 1 bar checking fueling properly and afr's will pay you back by engine lasting longer. One thing i like  is not what power it is but  you know its running sweet as it can be and you see where your turbo starts to drop off for example if its 6.5k no point in reving in lower gears to seven if you know what i mean

I think that's what I'm going to do mate, I'm going to change a few parts for peice of mind and get it running tip top at standard boost and then I'm going to get it mapped up to run extra boost. Like you say it's not about the power, it's about having it running right so I'm going to keep the boost down for now
