What about the transistor for the coil? I have read that these can fail, mainly in hot country's due to it being bolted to the engine and overheating

I mean the transistor that powers the coil not the actual coil itself, has he checked that? I'm just trying to throw in any extra ideas but to be fair a misfire could be caused by about a million different things lol

been pulling my hair out with this car the past two days
certainly was a tester as everything had been lashed up and more than one problem
basically the car was running so rich it would not idle at all and bogging down big time when driven.

1) safc11 been played around with and was set to running a 6 cylinder car so pulled that out and took the problem out of the equasion
2) bov was leaking.............that's now gone
3) base timing miles out........sorted
4) tps turned all the way round to try make car idle...........sorted
5) vacuum pipes all completely wrong........ripped them all out and started from scratch
6)throttle bodies had been off and every bypass screw shut off so that's now all sorted
7) main problem was the pipe from servo assist which is right at the back of the vacuum chamber was never ever fitted back on (obviously when previous owner took the bodies off) so car was pulling in loads of air, was a bitch to find though as its in the awquardest of places to get at.

anyway brakes are now shit hot (non existant before) and the thing goes like a rocket now so hopefully matty will be a happy chappy lol

just goes to show though that you can never just pinpoint one thing with these cars as can be a multitude of previous hash ups

all that's left to do now is an oil change as he has a sump full of petrol, it absolutely reaks of fuel when oil filler caps removed

Sounds like you've had your hans full with that one bob. I might have to dump my car on you one day if I can't get to the bottom of my misfire. And as for my fault code check not working, I'm confused as hell as with what to do with that!

I bet this guy is gong to be one happy chappy when he picks up his car from the Jedi master Wink

It's just been 1 of them issues mate where I tried sorting just the basics out bit still no good! So I thought enough is enough gotta give it to bob let the (pulsar king) sort it out! And within the first 4 hours of him working on it got a phone call off bob saying"still got some issues with it sorted the misfire and I think I know wat the ptob is" so I said just go ahead bob and do wat you think is the prob and let me know Tomoz? Got a phone call off bob today" all done Matt that's wat the prob was with it wat I said that bloody APEXI SAFC been wired up wrong and fuel to air ratio was well out... gotta get rid of that and see where we are then? After doing that get phone call today saying I was thinking of the worst as usual... All sorted mate and ready to pick the car up Tomoz or Saturday! As I get a massive grin on my face! All I can say is a massive thanks to bob for sorting my car out! Can't wait to pick it up? CHEERS BOB!!!!!!!!!

I don't mind doing the smaller type jobs at the moment, it's clutches and engine changes ect I'm not interested in doing as not got the time now I'm on my Todd.
Hopefully once the new company has been set up we will have more staff then can do the bigger jobs as well.

I just don't know how you managed to get the car back Matt when you bought it, lucky it never span a shell with the amount of fuel mixed with the oil

Like I say bob wen I bought the car I just limped it home Cus I know wat these cars are like and bringing 320 miles away from home just slow and steady no ragging barely even let turbo surge at all.. 3000rpm was the max lucky I did do that otherwise I would have a knackered engine!!

Yes Glenn got it sorted mate finally it was APEXI SAFC causing loads of probs with the ECU air to fuel ratio's were miles out and it was set for a 6 cylinder??? And loads of leaks vacuum pipes off and not blanked pipe was off inlet manifold? So bob said I was lucky to get it home how it was but am very grateful for wat bob has done?
