Have you tried a different oil pressure sensor first before such drastic measures?
If so and that didn't work you can do the pump with engine in situ but it's not an easy job to do
If I get a chance tomorrow il do a write up how to do it for you or give me a bell and il explain over phone

no not without unbolting the cover as you cant get a spanner in to the cap bolt unfortunately

I forgot to say this a track /rally car strip out roll cage coil over suspension front intercooler and oil cooler
