Has anyone tried the nylon type bushes off ebay that apparently tighten up the gear stick slop and aid gear changes cos I miss 3 rd gear a lot when giving it some so thought these might help???

i bought some got same problem, but not got round to fitting yet as its too cold  Shocked

i bought some red type bushes to change the bush wich is just between gearbox and rods...i opened a thread about that, and i explained all, location and so on...
i'll try to dig it out.

Just read the thread but I'm no wiser as to if you thought it worked or not and how hard was the fitting??

Gear selector bush only really needs replacing if it has excessive play.
The gear stabiliser bush is normally the one to wear causing movement in the linkage

They are available mate. Haven't seen them in the uk but you can get them off eBay.
Easy to fit its two rubber bushes with a insert that push together

yep, that's the one i bought and fit.

it's quite easy to fit, you just have to jack the car up, go under and undo the bolt, change the bush, and re tighten all.
feeling is much better.

you can change the rear bush too by making your own solid bushes, i didn't get the time to make one for me at the moment...

you can go for it, it's better for us.
