Ive got a bit of an odd problem with my reverse lights, I'll start from the beginning.

When I bought my car It had no reverse lights, I decided to check the bulbs but there wernt any reverse light bulbs in the light cluster so I installed some bulbs for the reverse lights.
After installing the bulbs I realised the car had a problem with the reverse lights being stuck on, if I can remember correctly they were stuck on a d would just go off when they pleased. I disconnected the plug for the sensor for the reverse light and never bothered to get them sorted, infact I completely forgot about the reverse lights until today when I reversed the car out of my garage and left it running on the drive, when I walked round the back I was astonished to see the reverse lights on  confused
I didn't think they would come on with the sensor unplugged from the gearbox?

sounds like theres a problem with the tail light itself or connection as its shorting across to bring those lights on.
the plug from gearbox is just a switch so if that's disconnected there should be no feed unless its damp or shorting across somewhere so I would check at that end first, dry it off and tape it up

That plug could of been wet to be honest because the car was sat outside in the rain for an hour or so, I'll cover it up and theyre still stuck on I'll probably just take the bulbs out for now but I'll look into it because something's obviously not right with it lol

Hmm good question, I've never even checked to see if the fog light works. It's never been foggy when I've drove it so I've never even looked for the switch for it lol

I just thouht had someone fitted wired into the cluster and you had turned it on without realising or by fitting bulbs completed a circuit making them come on or short out. Just a  guess
