Quaife box

My mechanic went to fit my quaife box today seams to be quite a bit of damage on the shaft the the clutch sits on,he finks if we fit it's goin to wear more and fail pretty soon,I have pics do no know how to to upload them,if anyone has free five mins could I email you the pics to up load for me

If the imput shaft is damaged I wouldn't fit it. Will be mega money for a new quaife input shaft plus striping of box.

Are the ridges quite thin in the middle ?

Doesn't look too good does it I'm lookin to run around 4 to 430bhp with mods I have so guessing it won't last long at all

Yes if you enlarge the pic can see it's more in the middle I don't want to fit it then few months down the line it let's go when I payed good money in good faith

I would say if theres an element of  doubt  from your mechanic .... plus from what i can make out from the pictures i would say take it back and get your money back as its not fit for purpose ....and as james has said it will cost you a fair bit to put right ...

Sorry to say it but that input shaft is scrap. I'd even be surprised if the clutch centre plate slides smoothly on them damaged splines, there for meaning a horrible clutch pedal & hard gear selection.
If you do use that it strip the splines & damage you clutch centre plate in the process. Not good. Just hope you didn't pay over the odds for it

Shit. That's not good. Think a input shaft is about £700 from quaife plus fitting. I feel your pain

Feeling your pain. That shaft is cactus. Trust you have some redress off the vendor for selling faulty components.

who did you buy it of mate cause that is awful, and if you let us know who it is we will know not to buy of them as there are no excuses for that.

That ispretty awful mate that some one has sold for that much.

This is what most of us are saying as you purchased it that way ... its not fit for purpose as a buyer you have full rights to take it back legally  and get your money back .... as a small  community and believe me everybody know everyone through one way or another  we dont like to see innocent people getting ripped off...
