I have just seen a pulsar on eBay registered on a G plate, I didn't think they make them that early lol
Can you get them as early as a G reg or is this likely to be another cock up by the DVLA when registering a GTIR Laughing

Fom what i have read they started production of the GTIR in August 1990 and the H registration started something like July 1990 si it either a cock up or possibly one of the first pulsars ever produced lol

Yes you can get G plates. But saying that, it could be a private plate.
Nice Pulsar by the way, just the spec i would look for.

ive seen a few g reg gtirs and none were private plates
more than likely a few were made early to prove the cars were getting made something to do with the homologation rules

Is it just me or is all the information surround the GTIR a little scetchy lol nobody seems to know how many of each variant was produced or when production started and stopped etc.
I was reading something last night that said the GTIR is rarer to find in red or blue.... Blue  Suspect I didn't think they made them in blue from the factory? And they were not referring to the winter green R either because they mentioned that later.

I do see a few GTIRs in that bayside blue, I just assumed it was a popular culour to paint the car seeing as its a Nissan colour, am I right in saying they never produced them in blue from the factory? Because I have seen it mentioned a few times that you can get them in blue but I'm 99% sure you can't

yes they made some G reg gtirs not many and they were mostly black ones, it all depends on when they were registered when imported. As you probably know some times you come across ones that are R reg etc there was a white one that was an R reg.

I found this online, This may explain the G reg cars

There were 5 seperate periods of production:
000102 (08/90) - 005769 (04/91) [5667]
020004 (06/91) - 021480 (09/91) [1476]
051003 (10/91) - 053490 (07/92) [2487]
100003 (08/92) - 102340 (07/93) [2337]
150002 (08/93) - 151846 (11/94) [1844]
(these figures have been extracted using the chassis-lookup feature of the Nissan FAST parts system)

The Japanese Club quotes slightly different numbers - but an explanation has not been able to be communicated:
000101 (02/90) - 005485 (04/91) [5384]
020001 (05/91) - 020969 (09/91) [968]
051001 (10/91) - 053368 (07/92) [2367]
100001 (08/92) - 102215 (07/93) [2214]
150001 (08/93) - 150522 (08/94) [521]

As you can see the figures quoted from "The Japanese club" shows production started as early as February 1990 which would be a G reg

But then my car just confuses me even more Laughing My car is a J reg which should make it between August 1991-1992 but according to the serial numbers my car was one of the last of the first run which means it should be no older than April 1991 making it a H reg Laughing

I suppose my car could of been sat in the dealership a few months before it was registered therefore being on a later plate, or the production figures quoted above are wrong, but most likely the DVLA got it slightly wrong when importing lol

Not that any of this actually matters I just find it interesting Very Happy

Yes according the above data, if those production dates are correct because there are discrepancies between the two sets of figures, but according to those numbers there must be a few M reg GTI-R's And your car must of been one of the very last GTIR's ever made
