Right then what would be the best Ecu plug and play to get that actually is noticeable and aggressive, power wise iv currently got some hks 272 cams fitted so top end is sorted just lower end seems  not quick enough only running  a bar of boost for now,any idears blitz, mines, etc
Not looking for big power but just somefink with a bit more grunt at lower revs.

Thanks all.

You can get a couple of differant ecu's the Mines I think is the main one .

Its basically has a differant map on it , you can have your std ecu re-mapped by edd at fusion by adding a new board to the ecu ( nistune).
This is a bespoke map for your car and mods etc , around £500 but its worth it.

Was thinking about popping down to fusion, just looking for different views on the plug and play ones as what ones the best one to go for and makes a difference.

With a plug and play like the Mines , it's well advised to have the car rolling roaded to make sure your car is getting on with it this is another cost to consider.
Also having someone who knows what there looking for!

Correct fueling is defo important raising the boost or mapping or any plug and play ecu, will have to give edd a call I think.

the mine, blitz and many of the other are all pretty much the same tbh althogh the blitz and mines are the most common.

both are chipped to be able to run 1.2 bar but as aid it pays to get the cars fuelling checked on the rollers (its only an hours dyno time youll need) at least this will highlight any faults you may have in your ign and fuel system...if any!
others have run 1.4 bar on these ecu's with no probs

Those cams are total overkill for that boost, no wonder it fells a bit gutless lowdown.Unless you are running 1 bar on a gt3076 or summat.
Have you had them dialled in or were they already fitted when you bought the car?

14Uprated ecu Empty Re: Uprated ecu 3rd April 2012, 11:43 am

had them a while back not to sure got them fitted at gtirus.

yeah we did fit the cams for you aj, will be better with more boost but will always be laggy off boost tbh
cams can only really be dialled in on the rollers its a pig of a job to do as rocker cover needs to keep coming on and off, plus every engine setup is slightly different so we set them at 20degreesbtdc.
see how they are with chipped ecu and upping the boost

Hah, foot in mouth moment then Very Happy. What I meant was its a waste of the cams at only 1 bar unless its a big turbo and you are making much more power that a T28 would.

nah thats fine sye lol
on a road car they are ok with upped boost, wpuld benefit by a bigger tubby though.
i wouldnt use them on a circuit based car (used to be fitted to mine) its all or nothing and right at topend of rpm range which is no good on exit from an apex, we just needed a wider spread of power and minimal lag which i near enough have now.

I see,Im still waiting for that ecu bob dnt forget lol,I will up the boost to 1.2bar with a ecu on the rollers and hopefully should get abit more grunt at lower revs.

as soon as we have another in stock il give you a shout.
they are a lot more aggressive lowdown and midrange, my white uk sunny now feels quite mundane since i flogged it

ajay wouldnt you rather get an ecu fitted with a nistune already then get ed to map it? cheap way of doing things, and its not expensive to get the map changed
I say this becuase in my old starlet i had a toms ECU fitted (meant to be the best) and i just didnt trust it, i had the same setup as was recommended but it just never seemed right if you know what i mean, seemed to be running quite rich a lot of the time, and the difference between standard and that was minimal

I actually bought a ecu from Bob tested 2 of them and picked the one I was happy with,it did make a diffrence as I was chuffed on the way home, not only that I'm only just runnin 0.9 bar so not even 1 bar yet,il be down at Eds soon for 1.2 bar on the rollers so hopefully that will please me more afro

ah fair enough mate!
might just be a starlet thing then. We are all lucky to have bob ey!

It was chipped ecu can't remember the name maybe bob might remember,i was looking for a mines or a blitz but I heard there's not much of a diffrence between them all, and there pretty much slightly all the same, but yeh Bob is defo a good chap and a laugh and sorted me a good deal
