After being let down with going to view a pulsar I seen on facebook someone was selling a subaru impreza prodrive w reg quite cheap. After going to see it tonight I was almost won over, looked tidy had leather interior etc until I took it for a test drive. Took it up and down a stretch of fairly straight road to give it a bit and it seemed like it wasn't going anywhere. Its supposedly the 240bhp model so didnt think it was going to be rapid but was hoping for a bit more.

So after being left a bit disappointed, ive given it a swerve. Cant beat a good pulsar eh! Lol

Tbh mate I hated the Subaru but I some how ended up with one an now I wish I never sold it was a good motor running 1.2 bar an went well to say it was a yob wagon.

With the R and the poobaru if you hit a bend to hard you knew you would come out the other side slightly side ways but in control but with the evo I had I always thought I would come out of it backwards.

Do you not think its the built up hype and image you have set up in your mind ....i was the same with my 1st rs s2 turbo  seen them when i was a kid then as i was older got my first car  started going to meets saw a few whizzing past with a whoosh of a dump valve and decided that was it im getting one searched through loads and found one highly modified fell in love with it but when i drove it i kind of felt let down it just wasnt all what i thought it would be .... dont get me wrong it was quick but guess i had this hyped  image in my head ... if you know what mean .

Must admit, I got excited when I purchased my Rs Turbo, it turned out to probably be my worst car, not for performance, but yes, I probably did expect too much, a lot slower than people seemed to make out.....best cars so far GTiR, then R5 Turbo, that was fun, and a Scooby.
Did have an old 944, the doors weighed as much as the R5!

My evo5 handling on standard setup is superb wet or dry you would have to be asleep to crash it. Pulsar far more fun & power delivery in the pulsar is just raw & puts a grin on your face whether you want one or not ...

I always took the piss out of mates that bought subarus but I've always liked the look of the classics.
I bought one the other month and honestly wish I had bought one sooner!
It suits my purpose perfect!
And at 1.1bar it pulls very nice! Not the fastest but it's perfect for me Smile
I'm not keen on the newer models tho.

We had a brand new, New shape 08 STi and I can honestly say it was the best car I've ever driven. I've no idea how I got around some of the corners I went round lol.

However it was only that good once I binned the stupid 18" wheels and fitted a lighter set of 17's, Shame the ring lands went after 10k and the dealer had to buy it back off us in the end.

I must live in buckingham palace as I'm only 25 and was looking at just over 600 squid to insure. depends what spec one you where insuring mind.

my dream car would be an evo 5/6 but cant get insured cheap enough, and cant afford one either haha. would choose evo over subaru any day, but like Mr B said you cant beat a pulsar for the feel good factor lol

Direct line insured me for £340 at 24 my fuck up went through the online form an the car came up as a Subaru sport (I put the wrong reg in) anyway at the end it says amend so I then changed it to the correct reg an model but the price never changed.

I later rang them up as I was off abroad in it an the chap said the insurance was cheap on it an it must of been down to where I live.

I was always led to believe subarus where bomb proof. Seen few topics on subaru forums in the past slating pulsars saying they have "choclate gearboxes" or "datsun rust buckets" and that the impreza is almost bomb proof! But In my experiences with my 2 pulsars nothing ever went wrong or missed a beat!?

Was I in the lucky few that have never experienced problems with these cars lol

i think these pulsars have such a bad rep now that nobody wants them and its a shame as they aint nothing like what people say about them, ive had a few cars including hondas and the pulsar has cost me the least amount of money in repair costs and has been the most reliable little rice tin ive had

I agree. Like a go cart on steroids. Go round any corner and worst thing that would happen was the back end stepping out. Foot to the floor and it straightened up again.

Got to admit, so far had two Scooby's and two r's couldn't fault either....rev counter on r, but nothing major.

I always like the look at the subaru on the s reg shape but couldn't let my self buy one and be a real Essex chav so I kept my fiat coupe 20v turbo and everywhere you go you will always see a subaru no matter what ... The one To have would be the subaru 22b just something about the 22b that catches your eye ..  i met this guy in Southend who had a 22b just under 500 bhp I went out in it it was ok nothing to make me think wow ... Then he telling me the bottom ends goes all the time...                                   We had a little play me and him but I did lie tho telling him my pulsar had 300 horses Laughing but he found out how quick was my gti-r 6262 is and his face was the best bit when seeing me pulling away.. He did say after tho he never thought pulsar could be this quick and heard so many bad things about them so he never wanted one .. I did say never believe hear say and try one

Id have the type ra 3 door jobby as they look sexy as fuck lol.

I love the understated look about them and that they are virtually unknown, I always used to get "is that a startlet?" Or asking what it was. Its better to be the underdog lol
