I have welcomed you once, but I shall welcome you again now I have noticed your age...there should be a thread for the over 40's......big 50 for me next year!

Can't help on the registration, my knowledge is useless on these things.

Do you have a copy of the Nissan FAST? It's a system Nissan use where you can enter the VIN/chassis number and it retrieves some details surrounding the manufacture and specification of the car. I have a copy of this, but due to house moving I'll not be able to use it again until the start of November. However, if you don't find out any information before this, feel free to PM me your VIN number and I'll run it through FAST to see what it finds.

Cheers and welcome!

Sounds like you have one of the official nissan rally cars.
Tony Bardy has one. Two other guys joint own one and another guy in the uk has 2 more.
That's all I know of.

This guy used to work on them when they were rallied by nissan.

Throw some pics up. Is it drive able or in need of a resto?

Is it one of the rally prepped cars or just has the registration plate?

This off wiki: Group A: these rally models were not sold to the general public. They were specifically built and used for the WRC by the defunct NME (Nissan Motorsports Europe) as the works cars.
After NME was disbanded, the cars were sold to private buyers, predominately in Europe, where some made their way into Rallycross events. Tony Bardy is currently still competing in UK rallies using the "J3" NME car.

don't think its a genuine nme car stu as karls bought some stuff off us but would be interesting to know a little more about the car and its history as that may hold some secrets.
could possibly just be a stock car with a nme plate slapped on it who knows!

be carefull though karl because if it is genuine then its worth some serious wedge and theres a certain few people (looking in on the forum) will be trying to nick it from you for a pittance a few years ago i would have been one of them Laughing
i know you've chucked good wedge at this motor so a bit more info would be good fella

And welcome I the site, and as bob says be careful if it is an nme one don't sell it for pittance if you were to sell it

Hi thanks for replies on the history of J7 NME, The plate was put on the car by the last owner , So sadly the car isnt some super rare rally car.... But it still is a good plate to have for a poss one of say twenty five uk spec sunny GTIR.S left, poss less, it would be good to try and find out somehow.... Any ideas... Was down in Boscombe for the last few days to see my pops, Driving along and clonk, the clutch pedal hit the floor . I drove back with no clutch , which wasnt much fun........ Had a look at pedal box and noticed that the cage nut had split away from the welding that supports the pedal box, so the whole unit was moving so not letting any leverage go to the clutch.. Managed to wedge/ cable tie the bracket down so i could drive 100 miles back to n/w London.. M3... M25.. M40.. Will take dash out to re weld and modify... so all you guys / girls with a uprated clutches with a heavier pedals this will probably happen to you as its a weak spot. Modify it before it happens, Ask the mightyBob at H.Q.. tata:idea: Idea Idea Idea
