Looks like a good build but unsure weather he'll get the asking price?

yep that's phil bracpans car
I thought about making him an offer on it but after weighing in what the bits are worth tbh you could not break it for that and make a profit, think you would struggle to get your money back if im honest

The car is probably worth it, but pulsar prices are not rising, no matter whats been done to them so it just look luck of the draw I suppose if someone wants to pay the asking price

I think he would be stupid breaking it.there are far too many being broken and think that will always keep prices low
If I had the cash I'd buy it not massively overpriced when you consider shitty ford cosworth are going for more than that

that's the point though, cosworths are bringing more and they do sell for the money people are asking for them so it makes them a better buy as you will get your money back.
phils not overpriced the car, I know hes spent a fortune on her in the past but people just are not willing to pay that type of money for a pulsar no matter what its got under the bonnet.
a standard unmolested car is worth more money as its appealing to the euro market where as this is mainly a one trick pony being a full on track car which scrubs a lot of people out, I hope he does get his asking price but from past experience I think he will struggle and will also struggle to get that figure even if he breaks her too as ive already weighed in what its worth in bits and I think you would be lucky to get much over 7k in parts for her.

hes just got tohope that a buyer comes along who specifically wants a sorted track car

Nice car but again slightly to much for an r, a car is worth what some1 wants to pay, he may find some1 who is after a car ready for track etc never know when selling a car, nice car though Smile

Very few cars selling at the moment unless its an investment
Cosworth a are going for loads but a lot of people will get stuffed when they try to re-sell in a few years as nowhere outside England wants them
Lancia's now cost an absolute fortune when ten years ago they were going for a few thousand
Think phil will probably sell the car but most likely it'll be bought by someone in europe

Good for it's built purpose but that just limits buyers so can take some time to shift. Hope goes on to someone who will continue using it as bracpan was, as having the GTiR winning or performing well at any level of motorsport is what will keep interest & prices up for all ...

To be honest it's a nice car but when you look at it from a buyers point it's been used for a purpose and that purpose is to go as fast and hard as possible. It's a quality build as I've looked and watched it on all the forums however if someone was to buy it in the back of there mind they will always be thinking its been ran hard when will it break. It may never fail as it really has been built well but at 10k as has Been said, you can get lot of car for that and if its broken for parts,if its not worth that then it really is over priced. The question of what pulsars are worth has been raised many times and rally heritage is the main barrier for gtir owners. We all still love them though Wink

Rally heritage has been brought up a lot but don't think that's why they are cheap the 4x4 sapphire cosworth has zero rally heritage more of a failure than the gtir but they sell for 8000 plus for a good one
The Mazda 323 turbo 1.6 and 1.8 as well as the gtr all have rally heritage but are worth nothing
Even the Toyota celica gt4 one of the most successful rally cars of all time are selling for less than 5000
Think its all down to eBay and the uk's opinion of the grey import market

Completely disagree the gtir never won a rally it did not have the media coverage of what cosworths of the same era did, and you even hit the nail on the head yourself, yes the sapphires do fetch the money but only as much as a nice standard gtir does or a sunny gtir where as a intergrale or an escort cosworth are Worth serious money so yes your correct but your point is exactly what I'm saying

Sapphire cosworth never won a rally either
The gtir did win the group n championship though and the escort cosworth did win a few rallies but was vastly overshadowed by lancia Toyota Mitsubishi and Subaru
Though the escort cosworth fetches good money it's a pointless car if you use it its worth very little to fetch good money it's got to be kept in a garage and never used

Yes that's what I said you hit the nail on the head sapphire's fetch good money 8k as you said even though they didn't win a rally and that's what a nice standard gtir or sunny gtir fetches how ever the escort and the intergrale over shadow both due to there success it's been discussed many times.

My first turbo 4x4 was a Mazda 323 4x4 turbo lux & still got it as love it to bits & pointless selling for next to nothing. Ford Cosworths, Evos, Imprezas, Intergrale became popular through good motorsport results & people wanting the vehicles thus creating popularity status. Any car is worth next to nothing unless people really want it & with the GTiR it just lost out at every level, poor motorsport results, poor uk, eu sales & then poor opinions due to a few abused grey imports that got kicked around the uk second hand market making them undesirable.
GTiR is a bloody steal of a price for a superb hot hatch that far more fun than many of the main rivals & far more reliable & rust free than the average intergrale for example.
Just be happy you can buy & maintain them cheap, GTiR is best used, leave the fords & Lancias in a bubble in the garage :-)

mr b your dead on there
a car is only worth money if its desirable and unfortunately the gtir will never be a real desirable car unlike fords intergrales etc

which is good if you own one and want to run it at a reasonable cost but not so good if you want to sell it after spending a lot of money on it.
its a bit like over glamourising a council house with tastefull fittings and expensive décor, at the end of the day it wont be worth any more money than the clean but affordable house next to it
that about sums it up really
