Noticed quite a few GTI-Rs suddenly appear for sale on Ebay....Inc a black one finshing reg BYE.
Only noticed it as I looked at it about 6-7 weeks ago when it was up for sale by some one else for £2500...I walked away when I checked a few things on Bob's advice (owner wouldn't let me compression test it or anything like that)

Same car now for sale but 2K more???

Might be one to keep away from anyway.

Always good to have someone else's views or past experiences.
Thanks for the heads up.

Common issue, seller obviously thinks he can get more. Also a common thing is people think they can spend 3g in mods and expect to raise the price of the car by 3g etc.

crikey, swarm of them on eBay uk, 3 of them I seen listed before over last 3<>5months.
Just need your eyes wide open & don't be brash or gullible in listening to seller, listen to what your eyes/ears tell you.

Yes there has been a bit of an explosion of cars, maybe people have seen them sell for good money and have tried to jump on the band wagon.

The R is a bit like a hedgehog then :-)
I wonder if I put a saucer of petrol & a bowl of gearbox parts outside I can attract a few :-)

Nothing wrong with putting any price on a car. If you think it's worth it then it up to you to try and get the money you want from it.

In a way it's good for us, it may be the start of the cars value increasing it's about time if you ask me.

There are 5 on eBay at th moment £2k - £8k plus quite a few breaking for spares, I wonder what the top money will be as they get rarer £45k? As you now see some mk1 escorts etc.

Price of a real decent car standard or modded is worth more now.
2 to 3 years ago you could find a pretty decent example for 3k & less that was fully/smoothly working & had sensible money thrown at it.
Problem is same 5hit keeps going round the eBay sales network & damages the price growth potential as decreases peoples interest & opinion on the car.
Maybe our sons will see the day a standard production (non motorsport) R gets over 25k but won't happen in our lifetime. Some of the most interesting clean or well modded cars will probably go over 10k in next 3 years & climb slowly but main limitation is very small appeal thus minimal amount of buyers at serious money.

After we were talking about the market the other day I went and had a look. There were a couple of clean and pretty standard r's for sale. Then I found this one

http://www.carsales.mobi/cars/details/1993-Nissan-Pulsar-GTiR-RNN14/SSE-AD-3368001

Price is through the roof! It's clean and looks like it's had some decent engine work done but no way in hell would I pay that much. Maybe 6g less. Good looking car though Laughing
