everyones selling

Is it just me or does it seem that everyones selling there R's. Theres a dozen or so on ebay, 5 or 6 on pistonheads and a few on gumtree this is the most R's ive seen forsale in a few years. unforutnatley none of them are by me  

wouldnt dream of selling mine got big plans for mine

most people have big plans but only a handful actually finish.

Its more than likely people that have bought one recently and discovered that:
a) they aren't so good on fuel
b) not as reliable as expecting (especially if its been abused)
c) not done their homework before buying it etc

Very true!  
When I was on the hunt for my car I saw a lot of cars sell and then come up for sale again shortly after, I just think the car must of been a sack of shit or the person that bought it was expecting to just thrash the living daylights out of it and nothing go wrong   I think the trouble with these cars is you have got to be willing to get your hands dirty and repair things when they go wrong, that's why most people choose something like a focus ST or a corsa VXR etc, these newer cars are a lot less hassle but in my opinion they're lacking something and they are just not special enough. They don't feel special to drive and they don't look anything special when you see them.

I love my R and she's a keeper even though she forces me to undergo open wallet surgery I still love her  

you may have to repair the gtir but most of the time its not expensive.
problem with a lot of new performance is a lot are getting to the age where things are wearing out and suddenly they become more unreliable then the gtir is now and a hell of a lot more money to fix

the thing i like about old cars is that you can fix most things yourself, ill try fixing anything on my r but if i had a focus rs etc i dont think i would attempt to repair anything should it breakdown

yes gtir's in the grand scheme of things are actually very cheap to fix, don't think youll find a cheaper to fix performance car.
there old now and things will go wrong and youll need to spend out on one thing or another at various times but evo's etc will cost much much more to maintain as everything is much more expensive to buy.
the gtir is I would say the cheapest to maintain performance car on the market, nothing else compares with price of parts on the s/h market.

yes theres a few up for sale at the moment but how many are descent cars, think youll find most are just lashed together for the sale.

think a big factor aswell is people cant do anything themselves, they just take everything to a garage, the R is the sort of car you need to know abit about otherwise it will cost thousands to get someone else to fix.

Some good points here chaps, yeah generally its silly little issues that are the fault and sometime hard to find/access.

sometime, only the time is missing, and it's not really hard to sourt out...but only long to do...
