just discovered something today guys

was testing out a walbro fuel pump before sending it out to someone and discovered the polarity is reversed on it scratch
now this is the second one weve come across with this problem so in short the pump although wired up negative earth will not work as its sucking fuel away rather than pumping it.
if you wire it up positive earth then it works as it should do

explanation.............not got one!

so if any of you buy one of these off ebay or wherever check the damned thing before you fit it direct onto a battery, just put a bit of fuel in a container then fit 2 spade clips on a bit of wire and attach to the terminals on pump live obviously to +side and earth to - and it should suck the fuel up
be carefull that the outlets not pointing to your face though (as I did) or youll end up with burning eyeballs lol

theres got to be a dodgy batch of pumps out there, out the 6 pumps we have 2 are defective

yep I test every one I send out as I know some of them can be trouble.

I will email walbro about them but the thing is 'are they genuine or copies? and seeing as there s/h theres no real way of telling as they are so easy to copy for the Chinese fakers

Don't use Walbro myself as originals ain't very good & the copy crime via eBay on these just makes things worse.
Would assume just an assembly QC issue & wired wrong internally or marked wrong externally.
Certainly likely to be copy units though :-/ eBay should be shut down as full of copy products from a pump to an iphone alloy bumper case, don't know how they get away with it as so blatant ...
