Can't believe the reasonably priced car is a Vauxhall Shocked  I don't think Vauxhall have made a decent car for years. They say it has a lifetime warranty, bet there's a lot of small print to that.

No it's not the Adam, think it was an astra. Warranties like this will probably state that the car has to be serviced by the dealer every time etc

Was mentioning the fiesta as it went up against the Clio and the new 208gti for best new hot hatch.

That's pretty good then. I'm sure they are an ok car just don't personally like them. My friend had one and it went back to the dealers 4 times over the first year but I'm sure this happens to other cars. I find there is too many nobbers driving vxr's(male admittedly) thinking they are driving a Ferrari!

just watched this weeks one

what a very good idea that Ferrari thought of with the new one
in using the bonnet to re-route air out of the side of front wings to create downforce, so simple im surprised other manufacturers have not come up with that idea.

they have copied the dual clutch transmission though from the gtr to allow for immediate shifts with speed matching.
Nissan came up with that around 2004 when they were developing the r35

Yeah that's true. Would love a go in one. Tempted to do a driving day at Bedford autodrome as my mate did one last weekend and said it was amazing, wasn't cheap though but he drove several things.

I think electric cars are definately on the up and up. They have already shown that they can perform as well as petrol cars, if not better because the torque figures are imense and the torque is constant.
The only thing that's holding electic performance cars back are the production costs (wich I suppose would reduce significantly if mass produced) and efficiency, we need to find a way to make an electric car both perform well and have a good battery life so it's not running out of power constantly.

That hover fan was hilarious, trust Jeremy to ruin the engines by being an arse and trying to drive up that weir Laughing

The technology of batteries has come a fair way since I started dealing well them over 10 years ago. Lithium ion is a potential power source in the near future for what I work on, its just cost that's holding it back. I'm not complaining lead acid batteries is a good earner down the local scrappy Very Happy

I know its never going to happen because its too dangerous but nuclear power would solve the problem, but having a nuclear power source on board would be a potential disaster. It's early days for electric motors in cars yet, just think how much the combustion engine has come along over the years.
The future is definately electric but it will never compare to the noise and feel of a good old fashioned combustion engine Very Happy

it should really change its name its not really a car show anymore i do still watch it but half the time it seems to be a platform for jeremy clarkson to voice his right wing views.
though i have tried watching the us version and have to put that among the worlds worst tv shows

I still watch it but unlike the rest of you I thought sundays show was pathetic, what a waste of money building such a useless bit of trash to play silly boogers on the river.
the whole thing regarding peoples reactions is a setup, and its just 3 middle aged overly paid tw4ts who have really run out of ideas as to what the show is all about
you can gauge that by the amount of women smiling for the camera in the audience lol

however would be the best job in the world to have a part in that show, paid to play silly boogers in exotic machinery and locations, lucky gits lol

Still watch the show but its getting bit boring now to be honest. The whole bit with the mercs was interesting but the hovercraft nonsense just bored the shit out of me. Trying too hard to be funny I would say

I always seem to miss the show feck knows why scratch  .... i have been to the top gear studio and drove on the track last year when i had to pick up my bosses car from the body shop that is next door to the top gear studio ..... what i found more intresting with the location is the body shop owner showed me the arab prince's warehouse wich is huge with some gorgeous cars from lambo's porsches loads of exotic cars from track to road legal there was a rs 500 rs 200 delta intergrale even a little fiat 500 lol he buys cars sends them to the body shop regardless of the condition wich they are fully stripped then rebuilt with fresh paint and same with engine and running gear .... they were doing two mustang gt500 elanors for him when i went he keeps them busy all year round when i walked in my jaw dropped to the floor ... worst thing is none of them get used ..... anyway the bloke who had my bosses car said that the top gear clan were very rude and arrogrant outside of the programme ....

I agree with you bob, the show is pathetic, pointless and totally scripted. It just gets more ridicules every time I watch it. I think the hover van was good for a laugh but completely pointless. It would be fun if you had the money to burn building silly things like that though just to see if it would work.
When I was watching the last show I thought to myself this is just stupid when they were all screaming and being stupid in the van, it's so scripted and Immature. I still watch it though because it's still kind of entertaining.

I think it's time top gear called it quits, they are all just a bunch of over paid twats in some kind of mid-life crisis, I used to love top gear but now it's just a joke and far to immature and that's coming from someone half the age of the presenters.

Yeah I think they go a bit over the top with some of their projects where the money could be used more wisely. I would like to see more of the old v new races that they did in one of the seasons as it gives a good comparison to how much, or little in some cases the cars had changed.

yep I agree with that pete, old v new cars would be very interesting

they should also have a bit each week about a super silly high bhp car or interesting car that someone has built over years by there own hands and pure love whether its a lambo or an old escort

plus more about performance cars that most people can afford to buy.......not 100k+ dream cars that only they can afford to buy and drive

theres so many things you could do to improve that programme, 'as bill said' its all got a bit silly over the last two or three years with stupid road trips/races and whacky pathetic project ideas

the shows as pete said is a bit of lighthearted entertainment and no longer can be classed as a motoring show

Arent they only made in one place .... hence the corner of the market price wise .... i know somebody with one of those hybrids prius he was told after 5 years the batterys would need replacing at a cost of around 5k that was a couple of years back now though .

Yeah a friend of mine has Honda's version, the Insight. The batteries are very expensive as the technology is so good. Even the lead acid batteries I change in the golf buggies are around £800 a pack!
