Hi, i found a sunny in France for sale, it is 250 000 km and it has some rattles after 2000 tr/min....don't know if any check code have been done....what sort of problems could it be?

here are some pictures of the car...don't know about the price, but it can be interesting (it is a LHD, and there is not much rust on it)

Il answer you then lol ..... you can fault code check it  how to.... is in the how to section always worth a check ....probably best to have a listen could be just a rattley top end in wich case will need a re shim or the dreaded bottom end knock ...or a broken chain guide is this a potential buy then fred ....comp test also

thanks nomad, i had the guy on the phone. actually it's over 2000rpm the rattles are, (i know how to do a fault code check, thanks Wink), i explain him the way to do, so let's wait for the we to arrive!

actually, it is a RB model, no electric windows, no air conditionner, no alloys....it will need a paintjob and a really good overall.

if the rattle starts over 2k it could very well be a bigend on its way out so be carefull.

easy way to test is to feather on and off the throttle continually in neutral between 2-3k rpm
if it rattles every time it comes under load then will be the bigends

anything else isn't really a major problem, but with cranks being very hard to obtain then that would not be a good scenario

yep for sure....the price will depend on the car statement....but if there is a bottom end problem, i will buy directly a forged engine from you bob!!!!

not really but the chain can rattle if its stretched, had a couple in like that.
you can always tell if there stretched because when timing the engine the marks do not line up spot on

timing chain rattle normally appears at idle but goes away soon as you touch the throttle under load
