As we have the pulsar and an evo we want somthing ecconomical and comfy for visiting family etc We also have a 306 cabby that is good on fuel but bad on size ..

I have 3 kids , 11,12,14 and SWMBO so looking for a large ish family car and was thinking either mondeo or vectra around between 04-56 plates .
Anybody have any good or bad experience with these motors or can recomend a different car
will be more than likely be a diesel

I have driven 2 litre diesel mondeos and my dad has the 2 litre petrol estate which i think are good cars or a focus estate? A friend has a peugeot 307 diesel, i personally dont like the car but he gets good economy from it.

vectra like any car i suppose has faults but main things i can think that i have fixed a few of now is clutch and fly wheels no one as far as i know dose a conversion kit so your stuck with dual mass, egr valves and try and get one without the particulate filter both need mapping to bypass and remove but any car new or old has weak points so more advice for checking points if your buying one

I have a zafira which for a family car ticks all the boxes for me!
Loads of room (7 seats) and you can drop the rear ones and slide the middle ones forward to make it into a van, perfect for collecting parts for cars!

used to have a zafira turbo nice car,but a bit top heavy like most people carriers.ive a friend with a skoda octavia quite a long car.maybe not the best car to park or the best designed boot but seems to be indestructible, reasonably economical and loads of room inside
