Anyone owned one of these and any good or bad stories? im thiunking about gettign one as a daily not the 225bhp the 180. I used to think they were a bit girly but to be honest i think as time goes on due to there shape they will be come a classic. T'hey are at rock bottom prices at the mo the one im looking at is just under 3k which i think is a whole lot of car for the price. I know people will say get the 225bhp but its more about comfort for me really ive been driving mk1 golfs and a caddy passed few years as my dailys and i just fancy some comfort for a change Wink

I think they also come with a free pair of scissors and comb Laughing my boss had one never gave him any grief over than he said the handbrake was shockingly shit as he parked it on hes drive and found it in the middle of the road a few times .... even though he took it back to audi a couple of times they said it was ok .... im not sure if it was a common fault or he was just unlucky .

you aint exactly a short bloke Jamie
think youll find headroom a bit of a prob in one of those.
ive driven both and don't like either tbh but then I am an ol git so my opinion don't really count for much Laughing
the 225hp is a lot quicker though

Mums A3 had the same problem with the handbrake! Rolling Eyes Funny thing was, she came in from work & parked the car on the drive, got changed & took the dog out, whilst i went to get a shower... She came back from being out with the dog to find her A3 parked in the wall of the house Laughing
Anyway by this point id just climbed out of the shower to hear mum screaming up the stairs at me, (Gaz where have you been in my car) Huh scratch
Always my fault aint it Laughing Forgot woman never forget simple things... Like the handbrake Shocked

But i did read up that the A3 did have handbrake faults Jaimie, so the TT maybe the sane?

nomad yeah i too used to think of them as hairdressers cars lol

bob yeah i know what you mean im gonna ahve to sit in one first Wink

i am still very undecided i just was thinkign of years to come the shape and it being a future classic etc plus as said before the comfort side of things and i thought it was alot of car for the money.

the handbrake issue maybe true just been reading up but its not a massive fault i suppose, ill have a re think maybe see what else i can come up with haha

im not that keen on them, replaced more water pumps and c.v gaitors on them than i can remember.

they dont drive that amazing imo, the ride isnt good on any iv driven.

i also think they will just keep dropping, few more years and i think they will be below £1000.

been offered 2 in part exchange for the pulsar, but not something i want.

One of the strongest engines and gearboxes out there if serviced properly, good price and can do silly high milage....1.8turbo engines are good fun when mapped from the vag group, styling is a bit marmite I personally quite like them,

i dont think they will ever go down to 1k i think there pretty much at rock bottom now for decnet ones anyway. Ive been looking at the ones in the limited edition avaiator grey really like that colour but gonna have to sit in one first as said. Although i fit in my mk1 caddy fine so im sure there must be more room than in that lol

Sold mine 3 months ago, just make sure clocks have been changed, and esp lights are not or your talking big bucks. Forget nissan big bucks, nothing compared to audi. Had mine remaped to 275 still very slow but you forgive it because the interior is so bloody good.

Why not just buy one and if you don't like it sell it on? It's not like you must keep the car, if you buy for a good price you will get it back when you sell

i really liked the tt, space was limited thou i had the convertable, they just have little niggles when they get old like any car. little things like the haldex controler second hand they can end up costing you 900 pound.Insurance on them for some reason is stupid as well i h ad to pay 150 more than my pulsar

well ive gone for it picking it up sunday in rare aviator grey the first pic is what im picking up second one gives you a better idea of the colour. Gonna be going for black wheels with black grille and a few more subtle mods.

Well had it or a week or so now and got to say I love it really comfortable and solid as you would expect already started modding with painting wheels matt black along with front badge and rear. I have a stainless exhaust coming to make it twin exit along with a new rear valancealso ive done a mod called the wak box basically drilling the air box etc gives induction sound with a light dump nothing to in your face but a nice sound
