I've got a mk4 golf 1.8t running 240bhp with a k04 turbo and its fxxking quick quicker than my pulsar but my pulsar is standard with just the 1 bar mod done to it but will get my pulsar running more bhp soon.

a 240 golf would be no more quicker than a 1 bar gtir the gtir does have 4wd transmission loss but thats countered by the lack of traction from the golf maybe over 130mph the golf would get past

i wouldnt unless its only used on track...

just managed to get mine all back in, much better.

and it really isnt very heavy so no real weight loss gain.

the sound proofing stuff is quite heavy.but the rear seats ect are not that heavy doubt you would notice the difference with them back in really

My pulsar is quicker from stand still but once the golf gets going it go's
You have got to consider the pulsar is an old car compared to new cars which are a lot quicker these days
My pulsar doesn't throw me back in to my seat where my golf dose you can really tell when the turbo has kicked in, in the golf

I would say you need check your pulsar over.
Mine pulls you back in the seat nicely & causes most passengers to have temporary diaphragm seizure as soon as throttle opened. They are old but still damn quick when in good health/setup but are more fun and at home with sprinting & B road abuse.

Also say it needs checking over my mildly moded gtir maybe running 260-270 was still quicker than my brothers 250 hp golf maybe once we hit 130 mph plus the golf may end up being faster.but around country roads and stretches of dual carriage way the gtir was a lot quicker
The gtir may be old but would still give any of the new breed of hatches a run for there money and 0-100 would be quicker than 90% of new cars

on track is a good teller as ive come across some very quick golfs but at around 350hp you should annialate them in the R

ive only ever had one get past me and that was driven by an old boy in his early 80s Shocked he wiped the floor with me at brands plus every other car on the track too but he used to be a pro race driver and the car was ballistic on the straights and round the twistys carrying a lot of corner speed

but you only come across one like that on a very rare occasion

Can anyone tell me about the first 3 pics in the link

in the first pic there's a spade connector it sits on top of the dizzy housing is this an earth? Where does the cable come from that connects to it.

The second pic there's two red pipes (vac pipes?) they sit in front of the injectors on the inlet where do these connect to?

And the 3rd pic is a pipe coming off the top of the gearbox is this just a breather where does it connect

any help would be great cheers

mine is on standard boost, full interior and it wipes the floor of ep3's and even a carrera 4s couldnt pass me dont think a golf would stand a chance against yours with 1bar

Welling_AL

as everyone else says - get it running as best you can - get it on the rollers to see the power/torque curves - if all seems well - tinker with the boost a bit - you can go to 1.2bar on standard tubby/internals - mines run well like that for years.....
Maybe go SantaPod (or eqivalent) - see what your standing times are and how the car performs - there are probably some generic figures you could benchmark against....

one of mine has a earth just put on from earth connection on inlet (someone has added it nearly every other pulsar i have seen its not connected so dont worry.
i can not see pic very well i would guess at join the nipples on plenum
pipe is exactully that off gear box breather dose not connect to anything just have a bit of pipe from nipple hang it down the side of gearbox

Good stuff mate just sent you a e mail is it one of the four in a row normally have black caps on i changed mine for blue ones and my other r two are linked together and so are the other two with short pipes i know they have to be on and am sure they are only removed to put a instrument on used to balance the throttle bodies
