any advice welcome. Fitted secondhand standard engine. Smoking as you come off boost and abit on tickover

Comp tested fairly even across cyl 3 down slightly. It's Not the turbo. Nothing like oils in cooler ( runs top mount) or exhaust. Could it be valve stems ? Sticking valve or am I way off ?
Dose not do it from cold on tickover even if it's stood.
Anything to check or advice would be great.i ain't stupid can do most things but
Internals of engine and box are not my strongest point leave them to people with more knowhow and skills

Blue so oil mate. Similar to turbo probs but had two on now and second is 100% tested as good unit. First still feels good and smoke should of cleared if in exhaust

Could it be the oil control rings? You'd still have good compression but could get oil into cylinders if there worn (i believe) smoking on start up usually means valve stem seals but you've said it's not doing that?

could be valve guide which normally smokes on overrun
Could also be rings/bore/piston on your low cylinder from bit of classic ringland damage.
Have a look at plugs for clues and bore scope it for more clues .

^ that was most likely linking to overrun smoke . easy sort guides/seals and better than bore/piston issues .

thing is if the stem seals had been leaking you would still have a wet ex port on that cylinder which im sure you would have noticed on removal of the turbo Johnny Neutral

Did you transfer all the breather & PCV system from the old unit to the replacement one (like the little black canister on front top-right of engine)? Maybe breather blocked and causing heavy breathing through engine?

bore scope it be sure, generally easy enough see oiling on valve if turn engine over for best view.
Generally plug or top of piston good enough clue pinpoint the cylinder/cylinders with likely issue.
