Honda accord

Has anyone had sny experience of a 2007 HONDA ACCORD 2.2 i-CTDI SPORT, FACE LIFT 6 SPEED MANUAL.
Im going to view one later.

I need a decent family daily driver. At around £1000 give or take a few hundred..
It looks and sounds perfect.

That looks like a lot of car for the money amazing how cheap you can pick up some motors nowadays.

That it on price? fml, well cheap!

I'd go through the normal motions, engine, lights (dash too), if clear pipes on the fule lines check for bubbles, suspension, bushes, steering play.

For that price I wouldn't expect it to be a minter so possibly expect a few hundred quid in bushes and a service.

I know my cheap ass donkey cars last 5 except pulsar <300 and all still alive + sold for more than I paid

I didnt realise the car was in 200.000 miles so decided not to go and view it. As no doubt i will be paying out on parts as mentioned above.
I txtd the seller because i had phoned him up and said i would call back later to arange a viewing.
I should of just not bothered and kept him hanging on!
Rather than saying okay to my text he had to have a dig!!

200,000 only just run in then. My mate had an 05 passat estate 1.9tdi that was on 350,000 and still pulled well. Diesels as long as the oil and filter was changed regularly should do 200,000+ no problem.

Its not the engine that concerns me. Its the serviceable parts.
My golf has done 149k and all the bushes have had to be changed and now the clutch is needing to be done.
I dont fancy selling a car that needs mo ey spent on it. To buy another one that will no doubt need money spent on it sooner rather than later.

Depends how it been used , if mainly motorway it could still be very fit, would imagine suspension & steering could be quite solid as just mot'd.
Honda bit of a pita on parts & diesel system is expensive when faulty.
I would never bother with diesel unless doing serious mileage to make big saving .

watch the gearboxes on them as they had a few issues once they reach around 90k

Im just gonna wait until the golf dies and then go for something.

Might even put the money into the pulsar and use it daily hahaha

Still cheaper to buy the clutch for the golf than buy a new car stu ... they are not difficult to do ....

True. Its a bag of shire tho. When it rains the foot wells fill up lol
The clutch is a dual mass??? Or something like that?
The radiator has sprung a leak and so has the oil cooler radiator.
And the passenger side wishbone needs replacing.

Just get the Pulsar sorted as will be more reliable.
I use mine for lots of daily duties & it great .

I have searched and replaced and sealed up all the known common faults and it still has puddles in the footwells. Shite german crap..
I used to use my other gtirs as a daily driver. This one was when i first had it. Makes more sence to be fare.
I need to get on and get the gearbox cleaned and back in. And do a full service.

Dual mass flywheels are not that bad to do ive done quite a few solid disc conversions as dual mass flywheels can be problematic .... although it sounds like you golf is set to meet its maker .... lol ....

Yeh water leaks can be a nightmare to resolve.
I had one in footwell of my old mazda 323, took ages to find it, fix it & get right weather to test as hose did not produce leak
R's are quite good daily & fun, easy on park space too which huge bonus.
German stuff is well over rated really .

Yeah its almost dead lol i will just weigh it in when im done with it.

It has been a pain in the ass and i have given up on it.
I have made my mind up. After xmas im getting the pulsar back on the road and driving it daily

gtir has been my most reliable daily car since i bought my first one in 1999

I love the scorpion exhaust on my other R, keeps the nabours happy and also makes it even more habbitable to drive about town without feeling to much of a hooligan.

Mine have been the same when i used them as a daily driver. Once im on top of the maintenance i doubt i will have much problems running it

the fujitsubu on my first good too was(still got it i think) as quite as the scorpion but a little bit louder when driving fast

Mine is an animal when on full boost. Sounds like a dragon thats had its bollox clamped

Was walking about from the Chinease a bit ago and a arse in his Aston Martin came creaping over a speed bump as I was walking down the street and then floored it right next to me I think I may have had a semi from the sound of the V8 although it did shit me up! Nearly threw my chicken balls on the floor lol.

Subtle is the way forward. Dont even have a dump valve now
