These isnt the intercooler mount, but the mount that connects the block and intake manifold.
Its on the right side, rear of the engine, near the gearbox

I think you're correct actually, the right hand mount is for the old intercooler, so yes i should be able to remove this?

I believe people are removing every bracket from behind manifold (last 3 which I've been working on didn't have them)

Yes, i'm definitley not refitting the Y bracket.
Ill only fit 2 brackets, one on the left, one on the right,
