ah, so great news and not so great news! Manifold is complete...just down pipe and waste gate pipe to do now...Might even have some pictures of the engine bay finished by Friday or early new week. The not so good news is as we want the perfect finish I really want to get the plasma coating for Turbo housing, down pipe and Manifold before she let out into the wild...No corners cut. But.....my little car piggy bank is empty so now going month by month to finish her and Tax, Mot and Insurance is all due in March. So worst case might not be on the road until 31st May. Which puts the 1st 2 shows in doubt for me now...it will be worth it in the end. Keep you posted.

It is and 4mm thick...but the space constrants are so close that the heat coming off it could be a problem for the alternator or anything. Plus it will look a £££££ dollars being plasma coated in metalic back or red :O)
Also coating the turbo and down pipe to match just looks the business.
All or nothing as we started with the project.

How heat reflective is it being plasma coated ... as opposed to just heat wrapping ... just intrested as the videos showing on youtube meantioned nothing about heat ressistance ... ???

Heat coatings such as ceramic are plasma sprayed, they have a temp limit around 900degC. No idea on quoted temp reductions but would think about 20% reduction possible in real usage scenarios .

It works really well seen it in action hence why I got my 3071r done

So plasma is the applicator of the ceramic coating?

The manifold is bonkers...so the coatings would be a brutal final touch :O)

yes

Manifold is finished...just needs the wastegate run doing now...its a beast at 3mm thick...all welded up. Industrial fail proof finish currently. Will look awersome with the coating done and turno matached. Pinged some pics to Leighton for guys too see.

so if you wonder how tight for space it is....we ended up with 5mm clearance at the block and 5mm clearance with the rad setup inc. the turbo lol./....... like a glove as they say :O)

Who made manifold ? What do they charge for one similar ?
