Well...as always we get slightly carried away...

I've recently had 2 weeks off work but while trying keep occupied I looked at my Pulsar and though what the hell time to begin phase 1 of my plans!
I wont give all the secrets away but I'm hoping to get all the prep and build work done during the next 6 weeks...ready to be finely mapped by Bob :O)

In my head I remember Bob saying the 1st time we met don't worry you can not break it and visions of Pete ripping the carpets and everything out of his GTI-R having never done it before a few weeks back...so with that in mind me and a friend set to work...now I have no choice to finish what's been started.

I'm just enthusiastic with a mad vision - fortunately my friend has a bit experience and relevant skills to produce it(fingers crossed!)

To give a small idea about what we are doing I spent a week sanding my wheels down and then glass blasted them - to be dipped and coated in a gloss black lacquer
now we are in the middle of fitting a completely un-necessary intercooler just for fun - I looked up Reylands RS500 and Paul Overy's Escort Cosworth...all with these ridiculously over-sized intercoolers and huge 65mm Cores - Pro Alloy are doing the magic when it comes to the intercooler and rad build.

Trying to get it to fit will be a different story lol

Should be pretty mad once done (if we can pull it off) - watch this space Twisted Evil

Back on the road soon - I hope affraid

Nomad great offer - I've got pictures of the front of the car with a huge cardboard box doing the impression of the intercooler - This was how Pro Alloy worked the kit out for me and so I could get an idea of size...I've also got a bit of a tease of how the piping will be routed and a sketch of the intercooler kit they are building plus the original picture the design is based on. I can E-mail them over to you if you want to put them up on here Surprised)

Cheers for putting them up - I just sent you the drawing of the intercooler / rad / fan design too...its got air blades and you will see the fans have been flipped so sit between the intercooler and rad...the air blades form a vortex tunnel as such...should look pretty trick! and work well :O)

amazingly it doesn't sit any lower than more original intercooler I had on which was bottom mounted...it was low bloody low but never had any problem - feeling safe this time too!

If you are going from the turbo to the ic like this suggests.  Whats the radiator you are using? The hose from the block to the radiator is where you plan to the ic.

Rad is a custom build from Pro Alloy too - as I say they are doing the magic! The whole kit is being built on a bench to slot straight in (I hope) So the Turbo to intercooler pipe goes straight over the top of the rad as we are showing above...we are doing a mimic of an RS500 set up just on a pulsar! :O) all the IC pipes and rad pipes are one offs to fit.

So you are basically doing a copy of the radtech gtir ic and rad setup Wink

Its taken quite a bit of modification to make the space to get the fit...I don't want to give away all the secrets of how its been done just yet...hopefully this gives an idea of the something crazy we are up too Twisted Evil

I've just got the mad vision - its taken a fair bit of help to even begin to pull it off...hopefully it will all come together....looking good so far anyway! Wish us luck :O)

This kit sits in the place of the standard radiator.

not quite - Radtech's IC and Rad are smaller! plus there IC and Rad are back to back like a normal setup...we have flipped it so the fans are between the IC and Rad...allowing for a much bigger rad and the cores are just crazy. its similar but Radtechs IC doesn't mount and sit quite the same either ;o)
