Only in the wheel arches so it doesn't disintegrate into a pile of rust. Trying to make it last another 23 years!

It just tends to dry out and crack/peel. Next time should look at offerings from bilt hamber/dinitrol/noxudol etc.

pretty decent the solid ace discs, ICP do decent price & pretty decent quality generally.
Will agree with mr grim_d on that waxoil underseal, not a favourite of mine, looks neat & tidy at moment though.

I have been out of action for a while. Slipped a disc in my back washing my Hilux believe it or not!
Anyway feeling better now so back under the car.
I have finished the front suspension so now its time to start on the rear.
Before
UK Sunny GTI-R - Page 2 2ajtedw
I removed the struts and found the rubber gaitors damaged along with the bump stop. A new pair have been ordered from Nissan at a cost of £106.66, part number N5524050C00.
UK Sunny GTI-R - Page 2 Vr90fq

I have tried to remove the hubs for shot blasting and painting but the bolt that holds it in place is tight, very tight. In fact so tight I have decided to leave it in place and just shot blast the struts/springs.

I have had the rear struts blasted and painted. So they have been fitted with the new strut rubber, powered coated springs, new disc's, genuine Nissan brake pads, re-manufactured calipers.

The brakes will all need bedding in a bit before Thursday when the MOT runs out and it is booked in on the same day at my local Nissan garage.

I hate to do this but I am thinking of selling it.
See what happens!

I am thinking of selling my mini Toyota Hilux monster truck and the Sunny GTI-R to get an American COE pick up custom made for me. Something like below and use it as my daily driver.
I could get it made to my spec's then I could get it as a tipper and get rid of my army trailer as well.

If I sold the Sunny it would need to be a for a lot of money. Over 10K.

Epic build thread credit to you sir....... Unless you sell it then in that case you deserve lynching lol.

Seriously though you have to keep it you will end up regretting it.

Its a shame we can't comand this type of price for a mint standard Sunny Gtir.

Regardless of it's history the Gti-r should be getting similar money like the others.
Just a shame the cult following is not as huge.

Look at a similar example of the following cars on the net, they would all get over £8k in similar condition;

Ford Fiesta RS Turbo
Ford Escort Rs Turbo
Ford Escort Cosworth
Ford Sierra Cosworth
Lancia delta Intergrale
Renault 5 GT Turbo

It's quite mad that 4 of those on the list are Ford's.

I wonder how much an mint original Audi Quattro would fetch? Surely it must be up there with the others, I just watched the documentary on Youtube the other day. What a machine.

Holy moley! Take a look at this. http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C612487

Its a low mileage, not even 50,000 miles yet, full mostly Nissan service history, low owners and a well known back ground history (Daily Mail prize winners car). Also try and find another UK spec standard Sunny GTI-R in this condition to buy. There must be only about 35 to 40 left. Its worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I know someone who will buy it for about £8000.
I have finished the suspension front and rear now. Fitted the wheels back on and gave it a wash before taking it for a drive to bed the brakes in a bit.
Whilst washing it I thought don't sell it. Still in two minds what to do.

Lovely sales pitch that ^ lol

1. Sell to the guy for £8000
2. Don't sell it

These will be your only 2 options I am afraid.

I disagree with the comments that you won't get that amount

Trouble is that people do not advertise good examples for their worth as everyone else says "you won't get that"
well people have got that amount for them and if your in no rush to sell and the car is in great condition I think you will in time recieved the asking price

People need to change their attitudes with regards to worth especially so with a sunny gtir due to the sheer lack of them left

Totally agree, as I've said before they should all be that amount, if they were then everyone who wants one would have to pay that and it would soon be the normal asking price.

I think UK sunny GTiR in truly decent order & very close to original spec with mods just bolt ons, like filter, exhaust, strut bars & likes of GAB struts is worth 8k to 12k at this time probably but you more likely sell a LHD for good money than RHD.
Problem is not much appeal in uk as all the club fiasco helped keep cars appeal low & value worthless & you can simply count the amount of people who have 8k plus & want buy a UK Sunny on one hand even if you got fingers missing.
Most interest in UK is probably with 3k to 6k priced cars for fun road car or track  or projects.
You may get 9k or bit more if lucky but will be few more years yet till prices improves in general & even then still likely be a slow sale unless interest from a show & shine cult classic perspective improves ...

I know what Anth had it up for but I have owned the car for one and a half years now and that doesn't include the time the previous owner had it when he bought it off Anth. This type of car has increased in value, just depends on how much.
I have seen 'decent' Pulsars go for 10K and then blow there engine a week later (not even totally standard spec).
There was a Winter Green Pulsar on Ebay a few weeks ago up for 8K.
Like I have said previously you go out and buy another UK car if you can find one.

^ the winter green one is still up for sale at 8k .
problem is not that much interest in buying them. Put it up for over 12k & see how it goes. You may get lucky if someone really genuinely looking for one & yours meets buyers expectation/standard .

I would have said a good original import like mine would make about 5k and a UK one about 6k you may disagree but even at that as things are I bet you would still get a lot of tyre kickers and a good weight for the sale
