off the top of my head the majority of the vacc hoses that go to the bov and are on the intake are 6mm. i think that the blanks are 4mm but not 100% sure.

don't do it unless its proper thick wall silicone piping Wink

it all looks very pretty but is one of the main causes of boost related issues being spikes and surge. the actuator opens under positive pressure and overly long runs or thinwall cheap vacuum piping can balloon out or restrict which will affect actuator opening at correct time and other things such as recirc or atmospheric dump valves, also under bonnet temps will further highlight poor quality vacuum piping

personally I think your best off with the proper thickwall rubber vacuum pipe which you can buy dirt cheap from any motor factors it will do the job its designed to do and wont give you any troubles longterm, just wrap it in coloured sheath if you want the bling bling look

now you say that Bob i think i might redo my vacc pipes again. I've put new vacc pipes that plug into the intake and bov etc and ive had some problems on boost but it was mainly misfire related. I think i might just redoit again and make sure i have some top quality vacc lines soon as i have a small trackday coming up.

the car also went off boost and suddenly boost used to kick back in asif it was starved or petrol or something. might be that god knows Very Happy

4 & 6mm sounds about right, would measure fittings just to be sure.
as Bob said decent oem rubber hose is hard to beat, if going silicone stick to top brand vacuum rated & decent source so original not china shite.
I always think black looks best as always looks clean & all the pipe plumbing is a bit hidden in black.

I remember I used cheap blue vacuum hose once and my god there were lines shooting off everywhere on the Dyno. It was an occupational health and safety issue Laughing

Got mine from ASH, holding fine at 1.4 bar, seemed decent quality.

Was quite a tight squeeze to get the on, time will tell if if they hold at higher boost.

Cable ties them on when you do it, something I forgot to do. Mad

There's also roose motorsports, and viper performance for hoses among others , a bit better than ash but ash is very well priced.

so would a metre of 4mm and a metre of 6mm be enough to do some stuff?

yeah Sye should be enough to do the vacc points on top of the intake. I had abit more last year cause i did my bov piping and relocated the washer bottle but yeah 1 metre is enough to do some stuff

Just had a look on Demon Tweaks (first on Google) and the 4mm is £8.75 for 3 meters so not too bad really.
