Dear All,

As you know I had the gearbox re-built and at the same time had a stage one Exedy Clutch put in, well I am not getting on with it and looking to change it for something else, its making the car horrible to drive as its too harsh does anyone have suggestions please???? Smile

Exedy organic is about as light and forgiving as you can get in the way of uprated clutches, normally easy to live with.
It's possible you may have a distorted /warped flywheel that would cause judder and a snappy biting point

Hey Bob, funny thing is it was ok before the clutch was changed???? Its only since that clutch was put in, its harsh through the car and when I change down gears I get a transmission 'chatter'

Not saying he did but if box was left hanging on drive plate when it was fitted that can buckle the drive plate
Seen this a few times mainly if the box doesn't go into splines straight off. It's worse on the gtir as there's no spigot bearing for the input shaft to go into so the drive plate takes the full weight of the gearbox

Ex eddy organics are good normally it's just the paddle clutches that are really grabby and the less puks the more grabby they are
