Haha. This worries me Bob. Uprated gearset breaking like this. From what ive seen your track cars power figures have not been over the top and without launches they should hold up?

I was looking at a par dog set and wanted to abuse it on the odd occasion...

it really depends on how you use the box joel
im not the ''lets say'' most timid of people lol
all im saying is that anything can break if you abuse the crap out of it

im gonna try be a little more kid gloves with mine in future as ive spent a packet on gearboxes over the years.
funny thing is that the car we just bought in has my first ever gearbox in it that I had rebuilt with shotpeened gears and cryo treated case. I never ever used the box after I had it built some 6 year ago now as I purchased a quaife so sold it on.
the things now ben in 3 massive powered cars over the years, used for drag racing and all sorts and it has never broke Shocked
now its back with me again on car I just bought so maybe I should have kept the thing in first instance and saved myself a small fortune Laughing

Haha thats a classic mate. What gearset did you have in it ?

Anything out of the norm you did to the first box over your others ?

was a stock gearset
and answer to second part of the question was I took it to a proper gearbox specialist to be built instead of someone else who did the others I had. im back using the same specialist now for obvious reasons
