Alright guys. Just bought an AEM wideband for the R & just wonderd where the best place on the exhaust is to weld the lamba nut? Is as close as possible to the turbo elbow the best place or will it get to hot there?

I thought it ideally wants to be about 2 feet away from the turbo, but im not 100% on that.

With the kit do you get the nut to weld on or do you have to source that yourself ?

best and most usefull gauge you could have next to water and oil temp and oil pressure.

really handy for diagnosing faults too such as leaky vacuum pipes etc as afr's go all over the place
can be a real engine saver

Heres where i bought mine from, I know him from when i had renault 5's He dous injection & managment systems for them, but also a main dealer for AEM, ZEITRONIX, etc & dous all accesories.

I havent got a clue where to start yet nomad. & i wont be fitting it untill the car has been sprayed, so it will be about a month untill i do a how to!

! thing i have thought of tho, is that if the lamba needs to be around 2 - 3 feet from turbo, maybe routing the lamba wire under the drivers seat & using the HOT DOG hole for cat, to route the lamba through?

Just an update on this, ive not fitted it yet but there is a grommet under the front drivers wheel arch plastic where loom runs threw. so im going tho plumb the wiring threw there so it will come out under the dash & then I can reroute it Smile

Just so people know if they ever fit a wideband

is the old air sensor a good or bad place for the sensor to go I'm one up on you Leighton its off my to buy list and promoted on the to fit at some point list Smile

Only down  side in the ox sensor is it doesn't go in at a downward angle!
And I think they need to be like that so condensation drains out the senso to stop it rusting Smile
