I've been searching for a standard rear wishbone bushes and
found these vanette bushes. They look really similar to gtir bushes, has anyone had a go at fitting them?

The FAI SS4308 in this detailed image (serena/vanette) looks very similar but no idea as never tried.

try get some measurements for it.

Good known option is the Nolathane standard or castor mod bush (Nolathane 45386)

you need these ones...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Blue-Print-Lower-Suspension-Arm-Wishbone-Bush-Genuine-OE-Quality-Replacement-/351611650383

I've had them on three cars now, fit fine, GTIR is a strange beast as these bushing are totally different to the rest of the Nissan Sunny Range from 1900-1995.

I don't bother poly bushing these ones, the compound is as hard as poly A85 which Whiteline etc use... and whiteline are a rip off for example at >£50.

Nolathane standard:

If you want a set of brand new wishbones with standard bushings and ball joints etc already installed give me a shout? (they will be OEM manufacturers like Febi Bilstein, Moog, Febest etc.)

Good luck!

I wouldn't use the flat standard N14 range ones, N13 are similar but not same, the floorpan is shaped on R to take the shape of the bush with chamfered edges. due to benefit of castor mod you way better doing it once with castor mod bushes that 100% right fit .
If you buy the pattern standard arms which are n14 not rnn14 specific, rear bush on those is flat n14 style.
I keep original front arms unless heavy rot then source used good oem rnn14 arms, get them blasted, seem welded & epoxy coated & fitted with moog ball joint with grease nipple as way way better than pastern arm quality .
Suspension is shit enough standard & making front arms as rigid as possible & good bushing is a must on wishbones for handling gains .
Polybushes are indeed a rip off price, have a word with oz members as Nolathane cheap in Oz & some of asia

You guys have highlighted the problems i was looking at yesterday when buying new arms but come with standard n14 bushes. I've got polys but was going to go back to standard bushes if i can find any. I did have n14 bush on my ebay watch list then really looked at it and noticed its not like the gtir. I've bought a vanette bush to compare as only 8quid so worth a look think it may not be as tall but won't know until it arrives.

Totally agree, I was not suggesting using flat standard N14 ones, they do not fit anyway... I've made that mistake before and will not do that again...

You can't tell from the link I posted but they are chamfered edges. proper GTIR ones I've got some here:

I'm not saying Blue Print, ADL, Febi, etc. are one of the original Nissan OEM companies. But their parts are of the greatest quality, I'm yet to have anything from them that doesn't fit and feel quality:
http://www.bilsteingroup.com/uk/start.html

Only trouble with caster mod on any car is the added strain on other components etc. Admittedly a few degrees out of standard line will take years to manifest to a problem, so if you want fast road set up, do track days, etc then great, definitely go for it and enjoy it. Remember the knock on effect every modified part has on another...

Something I truly regret is not keeping my first gtir which was totally standard and keeping it that way, and learning how to drive it well Smile

From the Firstline range which the vanette one is that you mentioned is wrong... The Firstline part number for the GTIR is FSK6211:

Like mreguest is saying the n13 b12 bushes are ones try, likely size differs on one you gone for.
His ebay link image looked wrong but it is right shape ones & Blueprint stuff is superb, lot of bushes etc coming straight from oem suppliers.
Image below is Febi 45200 version of this N13 B12 bush as image good and can see shape matches that of gtir .

Lots of manufacturers do this but stick with decent like Febi, Delphi, Blueprint, Moog

This is the one i was originally looking at
http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=120610088869&alt=web

Searched and found posts of people buying lower arms with these bushes not fitting properly because standard n14 bush.

^ yeh that wrong and not useable on R as standard N14 are flat & R shaped for floor bush well

I'm thinking the difference between vanette and gtir bush maybe height difference but worth a go
as it looks to be metal sleeved like the original but have to wait and see.
If it measures up wrong i'll go for the one mreguest linked and i was thinking about doing the caster mod to the topmount not caster bush but we'll see.

having looked at some parts data today looks like your vanette one will be slightly larger than the N13 B12 style ones .

mc_hawkings24

Ok so the bush came yesterday and nope its not right.
The bush size is wider so not a fitter but was worth a go Sad i will buy the other bush mreguest linked

^ well least we know, N13 will fit interesting see if metal sleeved, Febi & Spidan ones look like could be from product details I saw. ADL Blueprint stuff is generally A1 quality ...

I have another one for the masses. Front wishbone bush
Is this the right or wrong bush googling is abit vague

Fsk6210

Not sure but if n13 n14 front bushes same then favourable it is, n14 pattern arm has no issue fitting with standard front bush .
Best quick way check is look at polybush cross fit on wishbone front bush and see if matches models.
I'll look later if no one beats me to it ...
