Yeah the engine is in the boot, its really just a nova shell and 2 front seats then sectioned off in the back with the engine. Its a redtop 2 litre vauxhall engine its not turbo as it wasnt needed!

Compared the length of blueprint cable to the standard cable and in my case they were the same length, so a new front cable wasnt going to solve my problem.

However not sure if anyone else has tried fitting the Blueprint ADN146207 front cable. I discovered this arvo the standard cable has a square end but the blueprint cable has a hex end and doesnt fit into the handbrake assembly. I tried sanding it down but took too much off so the cable twisted while fitting.

What i ended up doing was making a 13mm spacer which keeps the square part of the cable just inside the handbrake assembly to prevent it from twisting. Made a huge difference and my handbrake is within normal range now.

main dealer I expect as blueprint ones discontinued and stock gone unless get super lucky.
maybe put a wanted post up for good used one and clips you need and see where takes you.
Cable at dealer around £80 to £100 mark I think. If not heavily corroded you can normally free them as mentioned page1 but it never going be A1 and likely play up again in time.

Had issues over the last few weeks i noticed the brakes were locking on. I saw this thread before and thinking my cables are fine but now this bollocks Sad

I'll see if i can take it off and lube it probably won't last like you said. I did put up a few posts on bookface but no hits yet.

You might need to refurb the rear callipers too.
The hand brake cam might be binding. There's a thread on this somewhere and i think a company called Bigg Red does them.
This is one of the jobs on my list over the Winter.

I looked at that when i took the cables off and the mechanism is on the stops and pushes back and forth fine. Looks like just the cables up the swanny

Is the cable obviously real tight when try pull by hand through sheath.
Problem on calipers can be the slack/wear adjuster rod on the piston causing it snag and not release.
with uk climate and road salt it wouldn't surprise me the cables are not great.
taking cables off and feed release oil and atf fluid in can help massively but takes time and need them hanging until works all way through.
If caliper health unknown it good thing recon them as effects brake pedal feel massively and also the handbrake cams are normally a mixture of rusted sludge and wear which don't help handbrake function and auto piston adjustment function.

I was going to say jack it up and test wheel jamming or not holding on handbrake for that matter

Took it off put it in a vice and pulled it one way then it fully siezed in. Getting one made out of my one at a cost of 66quid which isn't bad and only down the road.

That part not matching oem p/n even as indirect match.

only other ones showing direct match to oem 3653069C00 or 3653069C10 are >
Spidan 43424
Kavo Parts BHC6537
Remkaflex 741015
Jakoparts J3931060
Herth & Buss J3931060

worth physically comparing though as small differences maybe easily modded and is likely something a workable match perhaps !
