Thanks ain't looked in manual but need wires at dash from Ecu and looked into it but read on some I might need to take signal straight from speed sensor. Would I jump in at Ecu for that ?

Id go straight from the speed sensor mate.

Now from info ive been given previously the speed sensor is 8000ppm but ive also checked a gtir plug in haltech map and the speed sensor is configured as 1225 pulses/km.

Not sure if any of this helps you but its info to reference later Smile

And on the front of the dials, you need to take them out of the dash to read, there is a pulse figure printed there as well. Don't remember off the top of my head what it is.

Take the clear plastic cover off, and its on the bottom left corner of the speedo (60kph = 637rpm)
http://www.gtiroz.net/gallery/misc/mods/gauges/album73/aab

it does say rpm so not sure if this is converted or what

Interesting I wonder if that's means 637rpm of the speed sensor, the needle is at 60kph. However it's the pulse rate that an aftermarket dash unit would require to correctly interpret the signal from the speed sensor I think.
