Thought I'd have a quick look at the turbo this evening. Like most Turbos that have a few miles on them there's two small cracks on the wastegate face, opposite to each other:
Will I get away with using this? The baby's due mid May and ideally would like car back on road before, as money's tight now I'm only going to do the bare essentials to the engine, then lob it back in. Looking to take it back out in a few years time when I have money and time.
I was going to order a new CHRA, but on closer inspection there's very little play in the shaft so should have a few years more fun in it.
Actuator arm circlip had rotted away, literally just pushed the rod and it popped off
Oh and when I last had it off 9 years ago I forgot to tighten 3 manifold nuts and 2 elbow nuts finger tight!
