well been 4 hours trying to get gearbox off, started off well but then asked me dad for advice and ended up actually splitting gearbox but wouldn't come off but then couldn't get it back on cos its locked in gear Mad so then undone all the visible clutch housing bolts but again still wont come off.

Is there any bolts in the bottom off the engine? do I have to take the sump off? turbo side is loose but back off engine is solid tight. Mad

any ideas anyone?

I love cars Very Happy

Have you undone the 2 brackets on the top of the transferbox?
One of them is bridged across the gearbox and transferbox.
Or are you removing the gearbox and transferbox as one?

Easiest way is to remove the end case of the transferbox and remove the diff.
Then the gearbox comes off like a fwd gearbox.

I'm presuming you've undone the startermotor?
And all the bolts around the gearbox and the 2 bastard bolts by the speed sensor?

I know this doesn't help but I find it much quicker to drop the whole engine out, specially if the A frame is still on. Shocked

the engines been out of the car for 12 months and Ive got it suspended with the tractor so that I could undo all the bolts, starter bolts where off, speed sensor bolts was off except one which was loose, if all fails then I will take off all transfer and gearbox as one but was hoping to just take off the gearbox
