I have been reading on here that there is not much point in chipping and remapping the standard ECU as it is prfectly capable up to 1.3 Bar on a healthy fuel and ignition system with a good fuel pressure.
However what is the general concesus on the Mines ECU, I have read in places that its best to avoid!

I think it's the fact it or similar makes raise the Rev limit which is pointless as a standard tubby will be tailing off boost before original limit and they have a aggressive ignition map.

Yes the ignition map is more aggressive than a stock ecu, they have also added more fuel to compensate for that so in short you get a much better response when turbo kicks in right up to red line

The rev limit can cause issues especially as some units that came into UK had as good as no rev limit being '9k in some Units' Which is engine failure territory for an aged gtir.

However if you find one with a sensible Rev limit then it's  a cheap way of gaining a fair bit of mid range performance

Would advise getting the car on a Dyno though if you get one so you can have afr's monitored and check for any knock /det
If you get one with a 7800 Rev limit then it's a good idea to fit rocker stoppers too as a safeguard.
