Yes the ignition map is more aggressive than a stock ecu, they have also added more fuel to compensate for that so in short you get a much better response when turbo kicks in right up to red line
The rev limit can cause issues especially as some units that came into UK had as good as no rev limit being '9k in some Units' Which is engine failure territory for an aged gtir.
However if you find one with a sensible Rev limit then it's a cheap way of gaining a fair bit of mid range performance
Would advise getting the car on a Dyno though if you get one so you can have afr's monitored and check for any knock /det
If you get one with a 7800 Rev limit then it's a good idea to fit rocker stoppers too as a safeguard.
