Gear linkage rubber boot

Hi,

I phoned Nissan today to order various parts, one that I needed is the boot cover that fits where the gear linkage bolts to the gearbox:



But its no longer available.. Part number i gave was 32859-03E01, section 328

Does anybody know of a boot cover that can be used off another vehicle? Mines knackered and fell to pieces years ago..

On a plus side ordered my new suspension with Bob today will be a rolling chassis soon

Should still be able get that, that boot 'striking rod boot' is used on a load of nissan models.

Could be worth asking ICP as they quite good for the UK.

Beat me to it mr b .... was on the search and quite a few nissan models use them ...

^ yeh i'm very surprised they said not available, I had one along with the seal & some other bits about 8 months ago & boot was stocked as covers lots of models & is quite common to be done along with seal as they often leaking & boot shredded.

Cheers guys, will give them another try tomorrow, I didn't speak to the lad I normally deal with today got the impression he couldn't be arsed looking!

Sounds like the usaul parts department attitude...

If you google search "nissan part number 34130Y"  it will come up with other nissan models wich might help you out if it draws a blank with the pulsar ...

^ how much was Nengun delivered.
use to be a few constant 'buy it now'on uk eBay around £4, boot that price from Nissan

£11 Mr B, tad expensive but got a few more things to make it worth while Although it was cheaper with postage than the one on ebay, just take longer to arrive.  Saw 5zigen Pro Racer ZZ on there, got tempted but the delivery would be expensive to have that shipped!

Mmm quite expensive, possibly USA cheaper ... not something you buy often anyway.

Think I looked at the USA link, but delivery was really high. I ended up getting other oil seals as well so the whole order delivered was 25.88, think its been the cheapest order this week up to now!

I might have one of them mate. I got one from Nissans not even a year ago i'll have a look

sorry I have part no. 32869 bush fork sft. but I had a leak from there so I ordered a few bits, obviously used the seal, must have used the boot as well,

Finally got round to replacing the boot tonight, but for the life of me I couldn't get the roll pin out, 32898 in the top picture. I'm thinking of applying heat then trying again with a drift and knocking stick again.

Has anybody else replaced this? Sure I reassume one on here having the same problem...

So got the yoke off finally with the help of my favourite gas, Mr Map. Heated the roll pin and it popped out easy, didn't realise there were two roll pins one inside the other!





Once the roll pins were removed, more heat applied to the yoke, then a small gear puller to remove it, cleaned up the shaft applied some grease and it pushed straight back on. Another job ticked off the list.

Don't know if it would be a mot failure over here, but the lack of the dust boot not the best!

Yeah, that roll pin's a right bastard to remove,
Refitting the rubber gator is a twat of a job too,

I thought mine looked average mate, but yours is destroyed lol
