I have these in my doors. http://www.halfords.com/technology/car-audio/sound-systems/edge-ed204-4-v2-car-speakers
They're cheap but sound ok when I'm listening to the archers! Laughing Laughing

I must admit in the 6 years of ownership I have rarely had a CD player in the car. Did at one point but never looked at the speakers as I had a one of the rear speaker parcel shelf things

I have some jbl 6" (might be 6.5") components which fitted in standard spot but on some mdf spacers all behind original panel for clearance & better sound. Hardly ever use it though unless parked up waiting about or something.

Ok think I may have to get the panel off and see what can go in there, Iv not git any kit to make spacers up ext

It's the depth of the magnet as it hits the window when down up to a certain size them the hole itself restricts

True it's one measurement I was goin to take when the panel is off

When you do throw some measurements and what you end up fitting please as it will help others inc spacers if you go down that route

Ok will do, unfortunately I won't beabke to make spacers as I don't have any tools for that so really looking for sonthing that's a near or best fit

Do you even need full spacers is round circles could just be 4 square chocks of wood or plastic a cutting of dyno mat or rubber on to stop vibration. Halfords or the net do pre made spacers that will just screw on so that's another option

True true and you say 6.5 with a spacer will be fine?

Different makes differ I ain't tried a max size on a pulsar my answers were from knowing what the doors look like and sound systems to a very hi spec on previous cars

You could always buy universal spacers, they might fit if you measure it up first

You can buy them on Amazon already cut to size like these http://www.amazon.co.uk/MOUNTING-STEREO-SPEAKER-SPACER-ADAPTOR/dp/B007K7O3KO/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1433711794&sr=8-3&keywords=6.5%22+mdf+spacers

You can buy them in different thicknesses depending on your requirements don't let the fact that their are no pics put you off they are decent quality.

Here's a pic of the install on my Fabia to give you an idea.

There was no way mine would fit without spacers, if you can't cut your own buying them sounds good option should you need them. do believe my jbl's were 6'5", it was component set, fitted real nice with mdf spacers. full ring makes a nice solid mount & saves you from lot of vibration issues. I only had a decent head unit & the door components plus 6x4 on rear shelf all run from an amp & sound was really nice but hardly use it. head unit is a Sony that flips over & lcd side turns all black so looks like blanking plate when off which nice, only downside being old is no direct usb input .

I'd prefer not using spacers, less dicking around but in saying that I just brought speakers and they happened to fit. I have a crappy old headunit and average 6 inches in the front, they get the job done Laughing

Mdf spacers are much better if you value sound quality if not then the easiest would be just to bolt them to the door panel.

The idea is to have a solid mount and less chance of you turning sound frequency from the speakers into sound resonance through you metal door panel. It's said that the quality of installation is the single biggest factor in Car Audio Sound quality.
